Top 10 PC games (2012-13)

Updated on January 30, 2016

Pros and cons

  • Brilliant story
  • Superb visuals
  • Good shooting mechanics
  • Sound effects

  • Carries only two guns at a time
  • Currency collecting is a headache

Overall it is a brilliant game with a fantastic story. A must try for gamers looking for an awesome gaming experience.

The story is pretty simple. Find a girl named Elizabeth in the floating city of Columbia and make her repay a debt. Though the outline is simple, you can expect the usual twists and turns and the grand epic ending which will really mess with your head. It is possibly one of the best stories with hints throughout the game play. These hints will start to make sense only when you play it for the second time.

The game is a first person shooter with a mix of RPG elements. There is a lot of collecting to be done, and most of it is money, so you can purchase and upgrade. At a given point of time you can carry two weapons with you which is a bit irritating considering the cool updates available.

The graphics of this game deserves a special mention. The floating city of Columbia is very beautiful and the environments are vibrant. The animations and effects are superb.

The sound effects of the game is also brilliant. The emotions expressed in the voice of the characters really touches your heart. The sound effects of guns in the game are top class. Special credits goes to the background sound, which gets intense during battles and there are times when there is pin drop silence.

  • Fantastic story
  • Multi-player added
  • High replay quality

  • Boring side missions
  • Minor gliches

Everything said about Mass Effect 3 will be too less compared to the sheer experience of having played the game itself. Mass Effect 3’s bigger, better, more gripping than its previous episode.

You play the role of Commander Jack Shepard who has a mission of saving the universe from annihilation. If you’re a hardcore RPG fan, you will definitely enjoy Shepard’s quest to win support among all aliens and unite them against their existential danger.

Things changed a lot from the original Mass Effect in terms of gameplay mechanics. It's a lot more than an average game. The storyline will take you to a different tangent depending upon the actions you perform. Mass Effect 3 leaves you with many possibilities to reach the end goal, a trait that’s quite unique in modern games. You can also import your character from Mass Effect 2 into Mass Effect 3.

  • Solid game-play
  • Excellent story
  • Epic battles
  • One of the hardest games
  • Great sound effects

  • Keyboard/mouse controller is awful
  • One of the hardest game
  • Issue with graphics

Dark Souls is not a game that will appeal to everyone. This is a game that requires your time and will stress your patience to its limits. It is one of the hardest games we’ve played in a long time. Some of the battles are crushingly hard and the sense of satisfaction and achievement that you feel when you kill your first demon just cannot be matched. It doesn't have features like quick save, but somehow, this works well with the theme of the game.

  • Funny dialogues
  • Good multi-player mode

  • Campaign is too small

It has everything we love about the original game. In fact they made it even better by making some much needed changes. It'll be one of the best game you will play and is an awesome experience that must not be missed

This time they got more weapons, more stuff to shoot and more things to complete. It takes the game-play to a whole new level. Borderlands 2 also brings a lot of side missions in addition to the main storyline. Other than guns, you will get grenades, fancy shields etc.

The audio/visual experience lets you enjoy the game to its core. The scripts and dialogues contains a lots a sarcastic one-liners which will always put a smile on your face. Crazy, but at the same time, insanely addictive game.

  • Detailed characters
  • Improved physics
  • Overall realism

  • Motion control support
  • Similar to FIFA 12

5. FIFA 13

It makes the football gaming experience better than ever. The game doesn’t deviate too much from FIFA 12, but still it does so pretty well.

The looks, animations, backgrounds etc. are same as that of FIFA 12. It's overall appeal is the in-game commentary, and the interplay between the commentators works seamlessly. It is the first game in EA’s football franchise to support motion controllers.

Regarding the graphics and game-play you won't see any difference from FIFA12. But FIFA 13 is a better game than FIFA 12 and has features, minor or not, that the previous game lacks. PES 2013’s gameplay may be slightly better than FIFA 13’s

  • Great graphics
  • Awesome sound design
  • Excellent compact

  • Not even remotely scary
  • Disappointing story
  • Less challenging

It is a game that every gamer must experience. Overall this is one hell of a game with loads of funny stuffs. It redefines the original game in a subtle way.

Well coded, the game provides a rock-solid gaming experience. When it comes to graphics, Dead Space 3 just shines. The audio is absolutely superb. Sadly, with the new, faster combat, the very soul of the series has been sucked out. It is no-longer like a survival-horror game.

  • Good story
  • Great environments
  • Good character design

  • Sound quality

It is the perfectly rebooted action game. The story is simple, but the great execution of characters makes it interesting. The compact is friendly to newcomers as well as challenging to veterans.

The graphics of the game is very good, and the animations are amazing. The sound quality is not up to the mark, but the voice acting of the characters are great. The metal background of the game gives you an adventurous feeling. A must buy for all action-adventure fans. At the end of the game you will have a satisfying feeling of accomplishment.

  • Nice graphics
  • A real sense of speed
  • Best arcade racing game

  • Disappointing cop chases
  • Single player needs improvement

It is an exceptional arcade racing game. The developers have done a superb work in making this game outstanding. The game looks gorgeous and stunning. This must be the first open-world NFS game. Not every game can satisfy your need for speed as this game does. A must play for racing fans.

  • Innovative game-play

  • Minor bugs
  • Balance issues
  • Vehicles are irritating

The game-play is unlike anything you've ever experienced before. It might be tough in the beginning, but later you will be able to catch up with it. There are issues with the game, balance problems, random bugs etc. The game can be of great fun if you have time to spend with it.

  • Realistic cars and circuits
  • Added season challenge

  • Unrealistic in-race elements
  • Driving is harder

10.F1 2012

With an improved interface and detailed cars, circuits etc, the game is just brilliant. There are still some major issues with F1 2012. The first thing that catches your interest is the user interface. The have introduced 'flashback' that lets you rewind the race up to 15 seconds. The cars and circuits are realistic, but the unrealistic elements stood out like a sore thumb.

Which is your favorite game?
