LeapFrog LeapTV Active Video Game System

Updated on October 3, 2014

Buying Tip - Needs Batteries!

This toy DOES NOT come with batteries, which are necessary for the controller. You'll need 2 Double A batteries. Be sure to keep extras on hand for the inevitable time when they run out! A greener, and ultimately long-term cost saving solution is to get rechargeable batteries!

LeapFrog LeapTV Active Video Game System

Getting a LeapFrog LeapTV this year for the holidays means two things, fun and education wrapped up in one neat package! Kids will love the aspect of being able to play games with their own console, while parents will love being confident that their children will be picking up healthy skills and learning while having fun.

In addition, many of the games are quite interactive, so kids will be up and moving around instead of sitting on a couch or chair getting little to no exercise.

While the recommended age is 3 to 8 years of age, there are sure to be kids even older than that who will continue to enjoy this toy for years to come.

So Much Variety!

Because this toy has an incredible array of video games to choose from, your child will not only be bored, he or she will be able to find a game that fits in with their own interests. There are literally hundreds of games available, and all of them are geared towards education.

The variety doesn't stop with the topics of the videos. There is also a great mix of media. Some are traditional cartridges, while others are videos or downloads.

What Will Children Learn With LeapFrog LeapTV?

While kids will notice that they are just having fun, parents can relax a bit knowing that children will also be learning! Topics such as reading, science and math are just some of the areas your child can explore. Kids are motivated to do better, as they will be winning points as they solve problems.

You may be wondering how kids of different ages can be equally entertained. LeapFrog LeapTV solves this by allowing the child to advance levels as they progress. Your child will begin at his or her age group level, but the game has the ability to adapt to your child's own specific strengths. With this, your child will continue to be challenged according to his or her ability.

Hands Free!

With some of the more active games, holding a controller would make the whole experience a challenge. LeapTV has solved this issue by coming with a body motion option. This allows children to move freely during the more active games (dancing, etc), without having to hold anything!
