I have been playing Magic: The Gathering since 1994 and have won a few draft tournaments in MTGO and MTG Arena.

Dissension has some quality uncommons that have mechanics such as Forecast, Hellbent, and Graft. These mechanics enhance your arsenal and give you more gameplay options.

Crypt Champion

Crypt Champion is a black creature that costs three colorless and one black mana.

It has two power and two toughness

Double strike

When Crypt Champion enters the battlefield, each player puts a creature card with converted mana cost 3 or less from their graveyard onto the battlefield.

When Crypt Champion enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless one red mana was spent to cast it.

Crypt Champion can be used to resurrect beefy black creatures such as Rotting Regisaur or Master of the Feast and finish off your opponent.

Drekavac

Drekavac is a black creature that costs one colorless and one black mana.

It has three power and three toughness

When Drekavac enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you discard a noncreature card.

Drekavac is a low cost creature for its size and can be used in black aggro decks.

Slithering Shade

Slithering Shade is a black creature that costs one black mana.

It has zero power and one toughness

It has Defender meaning this creature can’t attack.

Pay one black mana: Slithering Shade gets plus one power and plus one toughness until end of turn.

Hellbent — Slithering Shade can attack as though it didn’t have defender as long as you have no cards in hand.

This card can be used in black aggro decks or in discard decks as it is very low costed and it maximize your spare mana since it is pumpable.

Court Hussar

Court Hussar is a blue creature that one costs two colorless and one blue mana.

It has one power and three toughness.

Vigilance

When Court Hussar enters the battlefield, look at the top three cards of your library, then put one of them into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.

When Court Hussar enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless one white mana was spent to cast it while replacing itself quickly via a card draw-like mechanic.

The Court Hussar is a nice defensive creature with three toughness and can help you arrange your deck by filtering out cards you do not need.

Plaxmanta

Plaxmanta is a blue creature that one costs one colorless and one blue mana.

It has two power and two toughness.

Flash

When Plaxmanta enters the battlefield, creatures you control gain shroud until end of turn.

When Plaxmanta enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless one green mana was spent to cast it.

In a way, Plaxmanta can function as a counterspell when a removal spell targets one or more of your creatures.

Skyscribing

Skyscribing is a blue sorcery that one costs X colorless and two blue mana.

Each player draws X cards.

Forecast — Pay two colorless and one blue mana, Reveal Skyscribing from your hand: Each player draws a card. (Activate this ability only during your upkeep and only once each turn.)

Skyscribing is a versatile spell as you can Forecast it and get a card draw each and every turn or go one time bigtime and draw a whole bunch of cards.

Spell Snare

Spell Snare is a blue instant that one costs one blue mana.

Counter target spell with converted mana cost of two.

Spell Snare can cripple many aggro decks as they rely on a mana curve. Even if you do not come first, you still get to counter their two mana cost creature.

Might of the Nephilim

Might of the Nephilim is a green instant that one costs one colorless and one green mana.

Target creature gets plus two power and plus two toughness until end of turn for each of its colors.

This is powerful when cast on a multicolored creature. If you cast it on a five colored creature like Transguild Courier, it gets plus ten power and plus ten toughness until end of turn.

Patagia Viper

Patagia Viper is a green creature that one costs three colorless and one green mana.

It has two power and one toughness.

Flying

When Patagia Viper enters the battlefield, create two one power and one toughness green and blue Snake creature tokens.

When Patagia Viper enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless one blue mana was spent to cast it.

Patagia Viper is a good value for the four mana you spent as you get a two power and one toughness flying creature and two one power and one toughness creatures.

Stomp and Howl

Stomp and Howl is a green sorcery that one costs two colorless and one green mana.

Destroy target artifact and target enchantment.

This is an excellent sideboard against artifact and enchantment based combo decks as it takes out two pieces for the price of one.

Squealing Devil

Squealing Devil is a red creature that one costs one colorless and one red mana.

Fear

When Squealing Devil enters the battlefield, you may pay X colorless mana. If you do, target creature gets +X/+0 until end of turn.

Weight of Spires

Weight of Spires deals damage to target creature equal to the number of nonbasic lands that creature’s controller controls.

Blessing of the Nephilim

Blessing of the Nephilim is a white enchantment that costs one white mana.

Enchant creature

Enchanted creature gets plus one power and plus one toughness for each of its colors.

Azorius Guildmage

Azorius Herald is a white and blue creature that costs two white and / or blue mana.

It has two power and two toughness.

Pay two colorless and one white mana: Tap target creature.

Pay two colorless and one blue mana: Counter target activated ability. (Mana abilities can’t be targeted.)

Hellhole Rats

Hellhole Rats is a black and red creature that costs two colorless, one black and one red mana.

It has two power and two toughness.

Haste

When Hellhole Rats enters the battlefield, target player discards a card. Hellhole Rats deals damage to that player equal to that card’s converted mana cost.

Hellhole Rats is a creature that if unhampered deals at the very least two damage with your opponent discarding a land or zero cost permanent and at most eighteen damage as the highest possible card you can force your opponent to discard is Draco, which costs sixteen mana plus the two damage dealt by Hellhole Rats' attack.

Jagged Poppet

Jagged Poppet is a black and red creature that costs one colorless, one black and one red mana.

It has three power and four toughness.

Whenever Jagged Poppet is dealt damage, discard that many cards.

Hellbent — Whenever Jagged Poppet deals combat damage to a player, if you have no cards in hand, that player discards cards equal to the damage.

Jagged Poppet is a good deal for a mere three mana. It even gives you a discard effect if you have no cards in hand.

Twin Strike

Twin Strike is a black and red instant that costs three colorless, one black and one red mana.

Twinstrike deals 2 damage to each of two target creatures.

Hellbent — Destroy those creatures instead if you have no cards in hand.

Plaxcaster Frogling

Plaxcaster Frogling is a green and blue creature that costs one colorless, one green and one blue mana.

It has zero power and zero toughness.

Graft Three (This creature enters the battlefield with three plus one power and plus one toughness counters on it. Whenever another creature enters the battlefield, you may move a plus one toughness counter from this creature onto it.)

Pay two colorless mana: Target creature with a one power and plus one toughness counter on it gains shroud until end of turn. (It can’t be the target of spells or abilities.)

Trygon Predator

Trygon Predator is a green and blue creature that costs one colorless, one green and one blue mana.

It has two power and three toughness.
