Magic: The Gathering: The Best Uncommons of Guildpact
Guildpact has some quality uncommons that have mechanics such as Bloodthirst, Haunt, and Replicate. These mechanics enhance your arsenal and give you more gameplay options.
Caustic Rain
Caustic Rain is a black sorcery that costs two colorless and two black mana.
It exiles target land.
This is an excellent spell to get rid of manlands and token generating lands as opponents cannot just simply bring them back from the graveyard.
Hissing Miasma
Hissing Miasma is a black enchantment that costs one colorless and two black mana.
Whenever a creature attacks you, its controller loses one life.
This is an excellent enchantment to deter weenie decks and token decks as many of their creatures have one power and one toughness.
You can have up to four of these in play so each attacker will cost your opponent four life.
Plagued Rusalka
Plagued Rusalka is a black creature that costs one black mana.
It has one power and one toughness.
You can pay one black mana and sacrifice a creature including Plagued Rusalka itself to give target creature minus one power and minus one toughness until end of turn.
This card is an excellent card in black sacrifice decks or Rakdos decks. There are cards such as Blood Artist that make your opponent lose life when creatures die.
Dryad Sophisticate
Dryad Sophisticate is a green creature that costs one colorless and one green mana.
It has two power and one toughness.
It has non-basic landwalk.
This means that if an opponent has any non-basic land, this creature is unblockable.
This card is decent in Modern and Pioneer formats as most players use non-basic lands in the format.
Gatherer of Graces
Gatherer of Graces is a green creature that costs one colorless and one green mana.
It has one power and two toughness.
It gets plus one power and plus one toughness for every Aura attached to it.
You can sacrifice an aura to regenerate Gatherer of Graces.
This card can be a handful in enchantment decks.
You can slap on auras with recursion such as Rancor or Moldervine Cloak or auras that increase Gatherer of Graces' size such as Hydra's Growth.
Primeval Light
Primeval Light is a green sorcery that costs three colorless and one green mana.
It destroys all enchantments controlled by target player.
It is a one-sided version of Tranquility.
This is especially deadly against enchantment based decks as they can be decimated in one fell swoop.
Scorched Rusalka
Scorched Rusalka is a red creature that costs one red mana.
It has one power and one toughness.
You can pay one red mana and sacrifice a creature including Scorched Rusalka itself to deal one damage to target player.
This card is an excellent card in red rush or Rakdos decks. Every point of damage matters for red and this certainly helps.
Shattering Spree
Shattering Spree is a red sorcery that costs one red mana.
It destroys target artifact.
It has Replicate. For one red mana, another copy of Shattering Spree will be created. You can choose new targets for each copy. You can create as many copies as you can pay for.
Replicate is a great way to get around most counterspells as each replicated copy counts as an individual spell. Even if you target the original copy, the replicated copies still go through.
Order of the Stars
Order of the Stars is a white creature that costs one white mana.
It has zero power and one toughness.
It also has defender so it cannot attack.
When Order of the Stars comes into play, choose a color. Order of the Stars gains protection from the chosen color.
Order of the Stars is an excellent defensive creature as it can hold off opposing creatures while you are getting set up.
Mortify
Mortify is a white and black instant that costs one colorless, one white and one black mana.
It destroys target creature or enchantment.
This card has been a staple in Modern tournaments as it is extremely versatile.
Electrolyze
Electrolyze is a blue and red instant that costs one colorless, one blue and one red mana.
It deals two damage divided in any way you choose among any number of target creatures and / or players.
You also draw a card.
This card has been a staple in Modern tournaments as it is extremely versatile. It can target several targets as well as replace itself via a card draw.
Gelectrode
Gelectrode is a blue and red creature that costs one colorless, one blue and one red mana.
It has zero power and one toughness.
Gelectrode can be tapped to deal one damage to target creature or player.
Whenever you play an instant or sorcery, you may untap Gelectrode.
This card can be powerful in Izzet which has a plethora of instants and sorceries.
Savage Twister
Savage Twister is a red and green sorcery that costs X colorless, one red and one green mana.
It deals X damage to all creatures.
This card is an excellent board sweeper and you can easily avoid getting wiped out by using indestructible creatures and creatures with protection from red or green.
Wreak Havoc
Wreak Havoc is a red and green sorcery that costs two colorless, one red and one green mana.
It destroys target artifact or land.
This spell cannot be countered by spells or abilities.
This is essentially Pillage albeit uncounterable.
This fits in nicely in red and green land destruction decks.
