Mario Kart 64 the best racing game of all time

The Nintendo 64 was a truly great video game system at its time. Besides being extremely powerful it plays some innovative games. Now racing games have always been quite similar. The goal is to be first and finish the race. Now there have been games that have taken twists on racing games. Sometimes you could punch off the side of a motorcycle like in road rash. This still didn't have enough of an impact to make it much different then most, though it is a great racing game. Mario Kart 64 defined the genre. Mario Kart 64 is the sequel of Mario Kart. Mario Kart did not receive a lot of attention. Mario Kart 64 on the other hand is a game still played to this day by friends and groups of people who played it all those years ago. Though there have been sequels nothing could really display the greatness that is Mario Kart 64.

The game gives you an option to race friends, battle, or play the Mario Grand Prix/main game. Now you can play the Grand Prix with friends or vs or battle. Battle is a special game that became a favorite and still is to this day. You and you friends try to hit each other three times removing three balloons from the opponents cart. The last man standing is the winner. In vs mode and grand prix you play on extremely fun tracks. You race and attempt to hurt each other all while you are trying to be first to finish the race. You knock each other off the track into enemies and other things. The game is incredibly fun and the re playability is immense. This game creates something new and exciting out of the racing genre. Something that doesn't get old an repetitive. If you sit in a room and ask someone if they have played Mario Kart 64 I guarantee at least one person will say yes. It's just one of those games. Now if you haven't experienced this game I recommend you do yourself a favor and play it. Even if your a fan of traditional racing games you have to try this game. The 3D levels and characters are fun and nicely created. Enjoy this N64 gem. Watch the game play videos below
