Mega Man 5 - Proto Man's Revenge

Dr. Cossack who was supposedly the main antagonist in the previous installation (Mega Man 4) is your ally now. He warns Mega Man that Proto Man and his robots have been attacking and causing mayhem. Mega Man rushes to stop Proto Man's rampage before its too late.

To make up for his previous misdeeds, Doctor Cossack builds Beat the bird to aid Mega Man. Beat is an excellent ally who can attack both minor enemies and robot masters.He also upgrades Mega Man's buster.

Proto Man has a pack of eight robot masters to aid him - Charge Man, Napalm Man, Star Man, Gravity Man, Gyro Man, Stone Man, Crystal Man and Wave Man. He then kidnaps his own creator - Dr. Light. This leaves Mega Man puzzled. Why would his older brother go rogue?

Mega Man 5 is a a platformer with the rock-paper-scissors concept. Each robot master has powers which are stronger or weaker against other robot masters. This particular installment features Gravity Man, Wave Man, Stone Man, Gyro Man, Star Man, Charge Man, Napalm Man and Crystal Man. Mega Man now has a new ally in the robot bird named Beat who attacks opponents and rescues Mega Man from falling.

Proto Man not only has his own robot masters but also has his legion of automated drones to do his bidding. Proto Man hopes that his army would be enough to overwhelm his younger brother Mega Man.

Proto Man has decided to be the main antagonist of this story and get eight robot masters of his own to take over the world. This installment features Gravity Man, Wave Man, Stone Man, Gyro Man, Star Man, Charge Man, Napalm Man and Crystal Man. Defeating a robot master would yield you his power.

Gravity Man can control the gravitational forces. He can increase and decrease gravity in order for him to be able to gain a tactical advantage. He also has a buster to hit his opponents from a distance. Defeat him and gain the Gravity Hold.

Wave Man has a design based on Neptune, god of the sea. He can manipulate the water to create hard water and attack opponents with it. He also has a trusty harpoon on his arm cannon to skewer his opponents. Defeat him and gain the Water Wave.

Stone Man is literally a walking brick wall. He uses his body as a weapon and tries to crush his enemies under his immense weight. If ever he gets disassembled, he can always reform himself. He also had orbiting stones that can damage you when they hit you. Defeat him and gain the Power Stone.

Gyro Man can use his flying ability to avoid attacks and to swoop in and surprise opponents. His propeller can also be thrown as a projectile to damage his opponents from afar. Defeat him and gain the Gyro Attack.

Star Man was created to be efficient in the void of space. He has a star shaped energy barrier which could be used to protect him and could be used as a method of attack. Defeat him and gain the Star Crash.

Charge Man is powered by coal and water just like the steam powered trains of yesteryear. His main attack is charging through opponents and trying to run them over. He also launches hot coals in the air to damage his opponents. Defeat him and gain the Charge Kick.

Napalm Man has an explosive personality. He has missile launchers in his head, arms and shoulders. He has treads on his feet and looks like a tank.Defeat him and gain the Napalm Bomb.

Crystal Man has the ability to create artificial crystals and project energy shots. His crystals have the unique ability to split into smaller crystals upon hitting a target. Defeat him and gain the Crystal Eye.

Proto Man is innocent after all! It turns out Dark Man impersonated him and framed him for crimes he did not commit. Dark Man has energy shields and a buster weapon and almost took Mega Man to the cleaners before the real Proto Man intervened.
