My top 3 Best Prize Catagories in Video Games

Updated on June 3, 2020

Should've seen this coming

Well it's only natural, after talking about the worst you're only gonna ask about the best. same as before I am not talking about a thing in particular like Super Sonic in Sonic Colors for example, I am talking about the various categories like hard mode for example. These things can completely change the game or could be worthy of a whole game of there own but are instead just waiting for that skilled player to go and win said prize. I don't really have any rules so lets just hope right into it and see what's the best of the best when it comes to video game prize categories.

No 1. New Characters

A new playable character can completely change the feel of the game for the best or the worst, nonetheless a new face or style is always welcomed in a game and if the character is just a cheap skin with no additional or alternate moves or and ability then perhaps appearance wise it is more palatable for the player. This goes a step further in multiplayer heavy games in which the players want something that represents them greater or perhaps they have a favorite that once unlocked they will never steer away from. New characters have been a basic video game prize for years and there is a good reason for that, just don't make have to but them after already unlocking them cause that's just lame.

No. New Mode

Sometimes a new game mode can feel like a whole new game depending on the amount of things changed within, or perhaps nothing has changed and it is just simply harder now in which case might be welcomed if you thought the original game was to easy. In the case of Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Master Mode acts as another file to play without having erase the original that you may have spent 30 plus hours on. These can range into all sorts of different types such as a simple hard mode to a different side of the story or perhaps alternate modes in multiplayer. A new character can often be part just a whole new mode in a game such as Ada Wong in Resident Evil 4 but in the end of things it's a new mode and we welcome it.

No 3. More Custom Options

I don't think I need to explain just how great it is to have this. whether it is creating a character a weapon or even a level anytime you can make the game you are playing feel more like or own it is a great feeling. Mortal Kombat Armageddon is probably going to forever be my top favorite Mortal Kombat game and that's primarily because of the create a character function that game had, I grew attached to the character I had made in the game and when you can take a character like that and transfer them over to other games it's like you or the character (whether it be something of your own work or from another franchise) is just having a multitude of adventures on there own and that's perhaps the one of the greatest feelings of them all when you start a game and you can customize it like that. I prattle on about making characters but customizing or in game home or or how many matches in a fighting game can be equally as awsome. How is this a prize you ask? Well in most cases you unlock more different things as you play the game making it a reoccurring prize.

Short agian?

To be honest, it was harder to come up with this list then I would have thought but I will say that it is not definitive and perhaps there are a few things that I had missed, it wouldn't surprise me. but what do you guys think? Are these great prize subjects in a game? Perhaps you have a different opinion on the subject entirely please let me know what you think in the comment section below, I'm Wanderin Jim and I hope you all have a super happy day.
