NBA 2K13 Tips for playing Online Mode

Updated on November 20, 2012

Intro

In this guide I will talk about ways for you to increase your teammate grade, and how to be successful when playing online. I will also talk about what NOT to do in a game that will make everyone very angry, and will annoy everyone, and make you an ignored player.

Before I get started, let me say you can feel free to ask questions in the comment section below and I will answer within 24 hours, or as soon as I can.

Also you can ask questions on Xbox LIve, my gamer tag is MKS JohnR space between the 2..

Also I am available on twitter for questions @Johnrr631992, or Twitter.com/Johnrr631992 . That is also a great way for you to stay in touch with future video game guides that I come out with, on top of other guides that I post. I also will answer questions on there.

How to improve a teammate grade

So initially one of the most important factors is improving your teammate grade. With that you should focus on doing things that help your team. Cover your assignment, go for assists, rebounds, good shots, and try to stay in a smart position. Do not leave you assignment for long periods, do not shoot when a man is on you, do not be a ball hog. Your goal is to try and help your team get the win, this will also allow you to get the most amount of coins possible when playing a game. That should be your main goal is to accomplish, and get the win.

Depending on the position you take (if playing more than 1 person on each team)or are given, depends on what your focus should be. If you are a point guard, then you should focus on passing the ball, and getting your teammates to score. If you are a center, then you should stay under, or near the basket, and either wait for the ball, and try to score, OR you should be wiating for rebounds. Either way each player has a specific role, and you should attempt to do your best to stick to that role to help your team win.

Remember that your main goal overall is that you are attempting to win the game.. With that being said you should be trying to score, and trying to play smart to accomplish that goal.

Utilizing your player

Another key part to being successful is to utilize your player. As said above, a lot of times you do not get to choose who your player is, so you should attempt to utilize that player to the best of your ability. You should try and play to the strengths of your player. If you are a 3 pt shooter, or a shooting guard then you should get open, and shoot. BUT that does not mean shoot EVERY time you get the ball. If you are a center then you should be under the basket. If you are a forward then you should be inside, but taking shots that are close to the hoop. You should focus on playing smart to not only increase the chance of winning but your teammate grade as said above.

what NOT to do

Things that you should not do.... This could be a long list but I will try and keep this fairly short..

First. Do not be a ball hog. Your teammates will not give you the ball, and this will hurt your teammate grade. Not to mention that you will probably not have much success and you will probably lose.

Second. DO NOT SHOOT every time you get the ball. While this may seem like the immediate reaction, if you are not open, then do not shoot.. If you are playing against a bad person, and they are leaving you open every time okay, but do not just throw the ball up every time you get the ball.

Third.. PLAY.. Do not join a game, and simply put the controller down to get free points. This is very annoying and really screws up the game. It also hurts your teammates who actually may be trying to win.

Fourth. Do not sabotage the game. There is nothing more annoying when a teammate calls all the timeouts, and sabotages the team early on. This is very annoying and will really aggravate everyone in the game.

Fifth. Do not call for the ball if you are not the point guard. If you are trying to help your guard out fine, but being a center, and bringing the ball up the court, and having it stolen does not benefit your team. This will only sabotage the game as said above.

Summary

So overall you main goal is to help your team, try to win, not sabotage your team, and be a good teammate. This will allow you to not only get more coins, but will allow you to actually get invited by other people, and have more fun on the game. In the end, what is the point of playing if all you are going to do is sabotage the team, or not play. That makes for no fun in the game. Overall I would say the point is to have fun, and make the game a fun experience, for everyone who is playing.
