New Facebook Games - Hotel City

Updated on July 18, 2011

Hotel City - New Free Facebook Game by Playfish

Hotel City is one of the newest Facebook games. It was released in March and is starting to gain popularity among Facebook games.

Hotel City was created by Playfish, who also developed Restaurant City and Pet Society. This latest free online game has you becoming a hotel developer. Try your best to build up your hotel's reputation to make it a five star hotel!

What Is Hotel City?

Hotel City is a free sim game. If you've ever played Restaurant City, it is similar to that. And of course, if you've ever played any of the famous Sim games, it will not be foreign to you.

It has an included tutorial that explains everything and makes it understandable even for beginning players. It is easy enough for young kids to play.

You can play Hotel City directly from your Facebook account if you wish.

How to Play Hotel City Game

Name your hotel. Scroll around to get a view of your sim environment. Pick the furniture and rooms you want to add. As you get more money, you can add swimming pools, bars, restaurants, and more. Everything needed to play- menus, settings, etc, is along the edge of your screen so you can access them at any time.

In the beginning, you get 3 staff members, some decorations, and enough money to build a small hotel with three rooms, a lobby, and a cleaning closet. To get permanent staff, you must try to recruit friends to add them as staff at your hotel. Until the game gets more players, this may be difficult to do at first.

You must log in at least every couple of days to start a new shift. The length of your shifts depends on how much money you have available.

Hotel City Online Game Complaints

The graphics for Hotel City could definitely be improved. They are rather dull compared to other sim games. The sound and music can get repetitive and annoying, too. I get irritated with all sim games sound settings, so that may just be me. Thankfully, it can be turned off.

Playfish Games Improvements

Hotel City doesn't take forever to load like some of the previous versions of Playfish Facebook games. Another improvement on the older Playfish games is how friends are displayed. Any friend that has a reward that can be claimed will have a gold icon, so that you know who to visit and when.

Hotel City Game Review Conclusion

In conclusion, Hotel City probably won't win any awards. But it is a fun, new Facebook game that can be entertaining and help you to relax after a hard day.
