Planetside 2 - A Free Massive Online First Person Shooter (MMOFPS)

Updated on May 21, 2013

First Person shooter on a Massive Scale

Planetside 2 is like no other first person shooter you ever seen (unless you played the first Planetside game), the scale of this game is just insane, you will see battles with hundreds of people playing along side you in epic battles that you can't find in any other online FPS game, and did I say it was free, because it is. Planetside 2 is a free-to-play game that will stay like that forever, there's possible to buy items for real cash like in most free-to-play games on the market. You can invest some cash and buy some guns or upgrades, but this won't make you better then other players that doesn't pay, it only gives you more options, because you can still upgrade and buy all the guns in the game with in-game currency that you earn by capturing points and killing the enemies.

3 Armies on a epic Battlefield

The whole game sets place in the future, so don't expect another Battlefield or Call of Duty game. There's 3 factions that you can choose from when you start the game, Terran Republic, Vanu Sovereignty and the New Conglomerate.

Each faction has there speciality but you pretty much play the same weapons and vehicles with some changes for each faction.
There's also a wide range of different classes you can play in this game, and keep in mind that you can change class relatively easy in this game so you don't have to play the class you choose in the beginning for the rest of your life. Here's a list of all the classes in Planetside 2.

  • Light Assault - Assault class with a jetpack
  • Heavy Assault - Can equip some heavy gun if they like, they're also anti-vehicle
  • Medic - Can heal and revive teammates, but can do some great damage also.
  • Engineer - Has the ability to repair vehicles.
  • Infiltrator - The sniper and spec-ops class
  • Mechanized Assault Exo-Suit (MAX) - A massive combat suit that can deal insane damage.

Vehicles in Planetside 2

There's plenty of of Vehicles in this game to make the battlefield really interesting, there fast transporting Vehicles, light and heavy tanks, a variety of bomber and transporting air crafts. Also each of the three faction has there own vehicles that only that faction has access to.

Have I convinced you to try Planetside 2 yet? I strongly advice you to check it out, you got nothing to lose considering that the game is free to download and free to play. Just remember to check if your computer can handle this epic First Person Shooter.
