Risen Update - Level 60 In Chapter One, Still Without Cheating

Updated on July 2, 2010

This is an update to my earlier post about leveling in Risen without cheating. I have now achieved level 60 in chapter one. As I explained before, this is all just using the Joke spell on the swamp weed farmer after you knock him to the ground and steal all of the swampweed from him. Sell the weed back to him to get the cash and experience. Do this over and over and the experience is limitless. I have found a faster way to do this though.

Now that you have beaten up on the farmer a few thousand times, you probably have a lot of money. What to do, what to do? Well, go to town and buy a few thousand shark fins. This breaks up the boring Rhobart beatings and, once you fry them, they give you tons of XP. All you do is knock Rhobart down, eat about 40 fried shark fins, flash him with Joke, eat about 20 shark fins, sell him the weed, repeat. Each shark fin is worth 15 XP and recharges your mana. This adds up really quickly and makes leveling a snap! Every time that you knock him down you should be able to gain 300 XP from the weed and about 825 XP from the shark fins. Not bad.

I'm not sure how far I am going to go with this. Right now I have about 120 learning points, I have almost maxed out all of my magic and I have maxed out sword skills and strength. I think that I need to see all of the levels of axe and staff fighting though, so I may keep going for a while. I will let you all know!
