Arcade Escape

Updated on October 30, 2011

Room Escape + Claw Machine = The ARCADE ESCAPE Game

If you like Room Escape games and Claw Machines then ARCADE ESCAPE is the game for you.

The challenge: You have been locked inside the Arcade and you have to find all the hidden clues so you can solve the puzzle and escape. Inside the Arcade is a virtual claw machine called UFO CATCHER that you have to "play" and win to get another clue.

You can find this game at

GAME TIP - The game is available in Japanese and English. After the game page loads, click on "ENGLISH" if you prefer instructions in english.

Room escape games are "point & click" games where you search for hidden clues, solve the puzzle and ultimately escape from the room. There is no exact sequence, you just have to figure out how to use the hidden objects to help yourself unlock the door and escape.

HOW TO PLAY - Point and click your mouse all around the room in order to find clues and hidden objects. Look high and low. If you can't click on an item, try clicking on it again later because sometimes you have to find items in order.

Use the clues you find to solve the puzzle so you can unlock the door and escape from the Arcade. This game is challenging and it will take you a while to find all the objects and figure out how to use them to escape.

After you load the game, if you need help getting started, click on the light switch to turn it on.

If you're not sure where to start, click on the light switch which will turn the light on so you can see the room you are in. There are 4 main rooms to explore. You will start in the Air Hockey game room.

Click on the far right or left edge of any room to move into the adjoining room. Click on the far top or bottom edge of any room to move further up or down. As you collect items, think about how you can use them in the different rooms to solve the puzzle.

As you point and click around the room clues and hidden objects will appear. When you find objects, they will be loaded into your toolbox. You will use the objects you find to perform tasks that will help you escape from the Arcade, like using a flashlight.

To "select" an object from your toolbox, click on it and make sure it is highlighted in orange. For instance, during the game you will need to put a coin into the UFO Catcher machine so you can try to win a plush toy. Just highlight the coin so the orange highlight box appears around it and then click on the UFO Catcher machine.

To see an item close up, select it in your toolbox, then click the magnifying glass icon.

Some items need be combined with other items to solve the puzzle. To combine, select an item and show the detail view by clicking the magnifying glass icon, then select the next item and click the magnifying glass icon. For example, to load the batteries into the flashlight.

This game is challenging, but I recommend that you try solving the game on your own first, it can be done. And if you get stuck on a certain task, refer the "Walkthrough" section of this article.

When you first try to play the UFO Catcher the game tells you "It needs a medal" which means you need to find the "coin" first before you can use it to play the claw machine.

Like most Room Escape games, you have to find certain objects in order. If you win the prize from the claw machine, it will lead to another clue.

Most room escape games are intuitive and flow logically so you are able to understand the clues and solve the puzzle in a reasonable amount of time. This particular game is more difficult than others I've seen because its not as obvious how the clues and objects work together. If you're familiar with room escape games you know they usually involve a pattern of numbers or colors that show how to unlock the lock and escape.

If you like a challenge then try to solve the puzzle on your own; it can be done if you keep trying. If you get stuck on what to do next in the game, you can read the comments at and if you need a walkthrough, go to that site and click on "older comments" to go back to entry on August 20, 2007 by DNOMN8R.

  • The sound effects and graphics are very good.
  • Game level is very challenging which makes is fun.
  • Best of all, you get to play a virtual UFO Catcher Claw Machine and win a virtual prize!

Note: little kids (or grown ups) who will be upset to see a cute little plush animal be harmed, you should not play this game.
