Shadows of the Damned: An Unofficial Review
Gist of the game
Shadows of the damned is a shooter game for Xbox, PS3, and PC. In general this game is about fighting hordes of demons to rescue your lover/wife, Paula, from the demon king, Flemming. You play as Garcia Hotspur, a demon hunter extrodinare. He battles through six acts with his demon partner Johnson. Oh also just a little spoiler, Paula is Flemming's mistress.
Time for the review
My overall impression of this game was, "Its an alright game." The reasoning behind this is so:
I beat the game in the day while getting all of the achievements, and here is the kicker, I hardly put any effort into it. Maybe it is because I play to many video games, I don't know, but I found the game too easy.
Also the story line seemed used too ofter, one example of a similar story line is Dante's Inferno. Dante's wife gets taken by the ruler of the underworld and he, as her loving husband has to fight all of hell just to get her back. But that is not the game we are talking about.
Shadow's of the Damned did have a few good parts in it, for example there are little stories in the game that help tie things together. I won't give away what. Also Garcia has a interesting sense of humor that I found entertaining. He does make a lot of male genitalia jokes though. Johnson, Garcia's weapon of choice, prefers to make sexual innuendos. I guess those things were meant to be the comic relief in the game.
This is the basic review that I give Shadows of the Damned,
It was an enjoyable game even if it was just an, "Alright Game."
