Silly Bandz - I don't get it

If you have a teenager or pre-teen, you probably have heard about the rave. Kids are just nuts over these silly rubber bands that are in the shape of animal, flowers, dinosaurs...well you name it there is a silly band for it. They even have some glow in the dark silly bandz.

I had no idea what a big rave it was until I noticed a hand written sign taped to the front door of our local dollar store. The sign said, "We don't have silly Bands!". I think maybe they were getting annoyed that so many people were asking about these silly bands. But it actually is true that unless you buy silly bandz online, you may not be able to find them in your town.

It reminds me of the slap bracelets we had when I was a teen. They were like a long stick thing and when you would snap it to your wrist, it would bend into a band. It was Very Cool. And Don't even get me started on the beanie baby rave...
