Super Mario Galaxy Cheats and Tips

Updated on August 12, 2009

Super Mario Galaxy

Released in November 2007, this new, advanced Mario game for the Nintendo Wii is set after Super Mario 64. The game is set in outer space, and you will travel with Mario from one galaxy to another. You will earn Power Stars by completing various tasks throughout the game, as you travel to the different planets and such in each galaxy.

Super Mario Galaxy allows you to circumnavigate round and irregular surfaces, which allows you to walk sideways or upside down, which as never before been seen in a Mario game.

The main hub- the Comet Observatory- contains 6 domes all that provide access to the 42 galaxies in the game. The more stars that you collect, the more galaxies begin to open up, so don't be alarmed if you don't see all 42 galaxies when you first start playing.

You'll find five "Prankster Comets" in the game; these comes appear occasionally, but when they do, a special challenge will become available for you to attempt to earn a Power Star.

Of all the Mario games throughout gaming history, Super Mario Galaxy has, so far, surpassed them all. I can't wait to find out what the next Mario game will entail, as it will be hard to beat Super Mario Galaxy.

Super Mario Galaxy Wii Questions

Q. Is there a place called Beach Bowl Galaxy?

A. Yes. I think you're talking about the secret star, "Wall Jumping Up Waterfalls." Choose the "Secret Undersea Cavern," grab a shell, and toss it at the treasure chest to the right of the stage. A launch star will appear; use it to blast right through to a near area where you will use a Cataquack to fling Mario into the coin. Grab the icflower and wall jump the waterfalls. Now, use the sling star to blast through to another place, where you'll grab the ice flower. Make sure to have the Cataquack follow you across to the new area, so that it can flip you into the star.

Q. When I get to the ship, the Toad says, "Those mean alliens are too far to attack, try to bounce something back." What am I supposed to do in order to get to the 3r star on the first galaxy?

A. You have to spin in order to bounce back the things that the aliens throw at you. Shake your Wii remote in order to spin. But, if that doesn't work, you'll need to spin something else in the same area that you're at, so look for objects in the area that you could use.

Q. I've finished the galaxy, but it doesn't say "Galaxy is Complete." Why?

A. You have to make sure to get all of the stars, to include the green stars which tend to be hidden. There's one in the space junk, one in the desert, and one in one of the one- star levels.

Sometimes, you have to wait for one of the comets. For example in the honeyhive galaxy, you have to wait before you can race cosmic Mario.

Q. Once I beat the game, what am I supposed to do next?

A. Well, once you beat the game with Mario and earn all 120 stars, you can hen go back and play using Luigi. When you beat the game with Luigi, there's a special level for you, extra.
