Call Duty Video Games

From the beginning of the series with the introduction of the original Call of Duty back in 2003, it has since grown into both modern warfare and the wildly successful Black Ops game action.

Available on a multitude of platforms from PlayStation 2 and 3, Xbox, Wii and even your computer, there is a game and platform available to any gamer who is into the thrill and excitement of war games.

With the element of suspense, surprise and working out some great strategies to beat those bad guys, it's no wonder that Call of Duty has always been on the top of any gamers' wish list. Add to it the very cool accessories such as compatible controllers, special weapons/guns and the ability to hook up and form your very own on-line military team, popularity of these games just keeps climbing.

The total number of games in this series is currently at 9 (soon to be 10!) including the latest release of the highly anticipated Black Ops 2, which made its debut on November 13, 2012. If you are a gamer, or know someone who is, you'll want to check out these Call of Duty videogames for an action-packed and true-to-life war game experience.

Call Duty Video Games

Call of Duty Finest Hour
The beginning of it all was kicked off with the first of three original Call of Duty games.

Call of Duty: Finest Hour was the first game in the series and gained tremendous popularity immediately after its release in 2003. The game was based on a war theme, focusing on the
American infantry division, set in the World War II era.

It was the first game available on gaming systems such as PS2 and Xbox, which also offered the on-line multiplayer feature.

Call Duty 2 Games

The next release in the collection was Call of Duty 2.

This is a first-person shooter game, available on multiple platforms and rated "T" for Teen. This game also takes place during World War II. COD-2 features action from American and British soldiers, along with those from the Red Army.

Call Duty 3 Games

The third game, Call of Duty 3, was the next to be released.

This is also a first-person shooter game, available on multiple platforms and rated "T" for Teen. Also taking place during World War II (but after D-Day) era, COD-3 showcases the warfare action of American, British, Canadian, French Resistance & Polish armies.

Modern Warfare - Call Duty 4 Games

Call of Duty 4 kicked off the next phase in the series known as "Modern Warfare," which takes us from the WWII era into modern day warfare.

Intense graphics and more on-line capabilities make Modern Warfare even more intense. This was the first game to get an "M" for Mature rating, although the DS version continues with a "T" rating.

Play as either an American Marine or British S.A.S. soldier with multiplayer capabilities and enhanced special effects.

Modern Warfare Series

There are the three Modern Warfare games in the Call of Duty collection, which put our soldiers in modern times and modern combat/warfare situations.

The games in this part of the series have remained extremely popular and received many accolades including best graphics and special effects. Perfect those land or air strike skills with a high level of accuracy as you play this first person shooter, multiplayer game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

This is actually the latest release of all the games, and came out in 2011. One of the highest rated warfare-type games featuring state-of-the-art graphics, split screens, and of course, non-stop multiplayer action.

Call of Duty: World at War

A Black Ops version of the game staged in the Pacific Theater and eastern locations of WWII. Get into some serious battle with both German and Japanese soldiers in all kinds of warfare. Amazing graphics put you right in the middle of the action, while the split screen option allows for up to four players to hook up and play on-line.

Here is a very popular first shooter game that takes place during the Cold War, and some of the Vietnam War thrown in for good measure.
