HOW I GOT STARTED DOING THIS

A few years back, while providing private nursing service for various children with special medical needs during the Night Shift, I had to find ways to stay awake during the wee hours when normal people are asleep. My job was to stay awake all night and assure the parents that there would be no distress, no respiratory emergency. During low periods of the shift when I was not so busy, to stay awake by doing word search puzzles, crosswords, or doodling funny pictures. This time I started taking words apart and trying to find mini words from one great big one. So there it was, a new mental exercise, all because of the need to stay awake.

More recently, I was sitting church one Sunday. That day, I particularly had my mind on other things, but then I was amazed that I was able to focus on what was going on and do this mental exercise at the same time. The word, Remembrance, which was engraved on the front side of the table, where they put the flowers and the communion plates, was staring me in the face. I sat in front of it every Sunday. I found all of a sudden that there were smaller words inside the big word that could define the meaning of the word I was looking at.

Here are the newly found words within the word "Remembrance". Along with the Christian interpretations of these words within the word are Bible scripture references to enhance its Spiritual meaning.

R.E.M. (noun) stands for rapid eye movement during the period of sleep in which the brain is most active, and during this time, one can still remember what is in their conscious Mind. Jesus Christ never sleeps and He Always Remembers us. (read 1 Corinthians, chapter 15, verses 51-52)

ME (pronoun) Who Jesus Christ remembers ALWAYS. (read 1 Corinthians, chapter 13)

BRAN (noun) An essential grain necessary for health. If you eat a lot of this, you eliminate what your body does not need. Just like bran, the more of Jesus Christ you have in your life, the more of the unnecessary will be eliminated from your life. ( read Matthew chapter 5, verses 29-30)

BRA (noun) This is a nickname for a supportive garment. If you remember Jesus Christ, He will never leave you. He will always be there for support. ( read Psalm 23)

NEAR (pronoun) Jesus Christ is always near you. ( psalm 35, verse 22)

ARM (noun) an extremity; Jesus always has His arms reaching out to us. Can we remember this? ( read Isaiah, chapter 51, verse 5)

MERE (adverb) You may have heard the saying " If you snooze, you lose." Just the mere doze or lack of attention could mean missing out on the giving of God's Grace. (read Proverbs 19, verse 15)

CAN (modal verb) the ability to do something. God gives you the ability that you "can" do the right thing. Doing the right thing over and over has to do with remembrance. (read Philippians chapter 4, verse 15)

CAN (noun) A place to store and preserve something that is perishable. In remembering Christ, He then Preserves us. Without Him we will perish. ( read Psalm one, verse 6, Old Testament).

RACE (noun) A group of people depicting a nationality. ALL Races of people are in Jesus Christ's Remembrance. ( read Philippians chapter 2, verse 2)

RACE (verb) To hurry or run with great speed. There is no need to run the race through life, for He can take the burden off of you, and you will not be forgotten at the "finish line". (read Matthew chapter 11, verse 29-30)

CARE (verb) Jesus cares for you. (read Philippians chapter 1, verse 3)

BARN (noun) A place to store the harvest of grain, and a shelter for God's creation from the elements. God has a safe place for you, and if you remember Him, the Harvest will be plenty! (read Psalm 23)
