Unknown awesome rpg video games Shin megami Tensei series pokemon twist

Updated on June 2, 2014

Two unbelievably fun videogames

Well let me begin by giving you guys a game that has blown me away, that you possibly stepped right over. Shin megami tensei is a very popular series in japan and has its fan base here in the United States. However, I feel many gamers look it over. I recently picked up two different smt games for the ds. the first was Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey and the other was called Devil Survivor. These games are the epitome of what an rpg should be. I mean imagine a tactics game and turn based style rpg full of everything an rpg should have. Imagine a Pokemon game where you could fight alongside your monsters and at the same time you didn't have to be ten to feel alright playing the game lol. These games have some real adult content and are based around a more adult standard of demons and apocalyptic type doom. Now there is demon fusion to add a twist to these games and special type fusions all which add even more excitement to the game. Strange Journey plays very much as a dungeon crawler but doesn't feel endless and tedious. As for the Devil Survivor game its tactics based sort of similar to Disgaea or Final Fantasy Tactics but instead of just going up to a character on the gird you do turn based battle with your team based on who you attack. You'll have to explore it for yourself but I assure you the twist on tactics is extremely fun. Great battles great story great characters great demons. Get these games!

Strange Journey

Impressive story and keeping the first person style of rpg fun. This game really divulges into what made the shin megami tensei series so fun. Your given many options as far fighting type and style and though it turns into a dungeon crawler, your not bored at any point. Yes its new world dungeon new world dungeon etc. but honestly that doesn't keep it being ridiculously fun. Picture playing wizardry or one of those games, but it has a good enough story that you don't ever get that alright I need a break feeling. Honestly you keep climbing to the top. So many different monsters in the game you never feel like your fighting the battle over and over again. the Shin Megami name has something that many rpgs don't and that is an impressive story and impressive level of enemies. This is a turn based first person rpg but it's done right. Many game developers have attempted this style of game and very view have successfully made a game where the story is good enough to carry the game. In this game even if the battles were awful and boring you'd keep playing. The story is so pulling that you just wouldn't quit. The battle are great as well so imagine the perfect first person rpg.

Devil Survivor

Picture the great tactical rpgs, Fire Emblem, Tactics Ogre, Shinning Force. Now mix that style of game play with a turn based game from the Shin Megami Tensei series and you have an incredible rpg hybrid. I'm saying a hybrid of two different styles of rpg here, and it works. Works so well you won't put this down til you beat it. That's the power of a game like this it's epic. Google searches for the game are common and I wouldn't be surprised if Pokémon or other jrpgs with monster elements attempted something to this nature. The game is the epitome of entertaining and fun. Figure a tactics rpg where each character can enter there own unique battle that take place of a battle within a battle. Yes this is so in-depth and interesting it is nearly impossible to put it down. I have a passion for this game and would recommend it anyone who likes video games. Yes if you don't like turn based rpgs still give it a try. Yes if you don't like tactical rpgs give it a try. I'm telling you this is one of those game where you'll be enjoying every moment of the game. Don't pass up a chance to get an amazing rpg like this. Picture that it's a Shin Megami story on top of perfect gameplay. This game is epic.
