Virtual LAN Gaming Network.

Updated on April 4, 2011

This hub is not promotional, Rather an introduction to a totally free program I have used for over two years for my gaming needs. It supports any and all PC games with the LAN feature and enables LAN gaming over the internet with friends and fellow gamers using a program that creates the virtual LAN. Some of you who have read one of my previous hubs may know about Tunngle. Using Tunngle is easy and requires nothing special other than an internet connection and some games to play, browsing the Tunngle lobbies menu you can easily see what games are most popular by the amount of people playing them. Also each games lobby has its own chat window for organizing games, chatting and meeting people to play with.

While Tunngle is active you can still use the internet normally with your own internet speeds (only game data is sent/received via Tunngle. It is not a VPN.

LAN party's although awesome, no longer need to look like this.

Some games (not many) will require some additional help to initiate the game in LAN mode, a program called "Teknogods Helper" is updated on a regular bases and has you covered for these rare games, for example F1 2010 is one of those games, I made a hub a few months ago about playing this game via Tunngle, check it out here.

The ping during games is awesome, it has never been a problem for me and I have played many games via Tunngle over the last few years. The only other similar program I know of is Hamachi and last time I used it only six people could connect to an Hamachi server limiting games to only 6 players. Tunngle can cater for many more, each games lobby can handle 255 players and when it reaches 60% of it's capacity another lobby for the same game will open so it will never say "server full" for the game you want to play. Each lobby of 255 players can all join/create each others games.

NOTE TO PEOPLE WHO USE A ROUTER: Tunngle uses port 11155 so don't forget to check your router settings and forward port 11155 (without doing this you will not be able to find or create any games)
