Is Fortnite worth playing?

The Battle Royal genre of video game has exploded over the last decade or so, taking over the gaming and streaming world. At first it was just a few games but soon enough it seemed like every game was coming out with Battle Royale modes, In this article I aim to point out the pros and cons of Fortnite,I will be doing a series of articles on the different Battle Royale games out there, I will not be covering every single one as there are way too many but I will try to make sure to cover the major ones.

Let's start with the grand poobah of all Battle Royale games - Fortnite, love it or hate it , it is a giant in the gaming industry and there is no denying it...I haven't played a ton of Fortnite but I have played it enough to have formed an opinion...here are the things I like and dislike about Fortnite

PROS

- A huge player base with no trouble at all finding matches

- They handle events and promotions better than any other game out there

- Very bright and colorful

- The amount of customization is awesome and the unlockables seem unlimited

- controls are very fine tuned and feel great while playing

CONS

- The player base is mostly pretty young and can equate to some pretty annoying teammates if you don't have friends on to play with

- The whole building system just distracts from the combat, This is just a personal opinion but I myself would play more if the building part was removed

- The graphics are perhaps a little bit overly cartoonish, a graphical update would be a wonderful thing for Fortnite but once again that is a personal preference

After all is said and done Fortnite is actually a really good game and is well put together, it shows no signs of slowing down or dying out, It isn't my favorite Battle Royale game but it is certainly worth trying out if you are looking to get into the genre
