The Yogi Bear Show Plush Dolls and Toys Featuring Yogi, Boo Boo, Ranger Smith
The Story
Yogi Bear made his first appearance on The Huckleberry Hound show in 1958. At first, he was just a supporting character. However, soon Yogi became more popular than the lovable hound and got his own show. The Yogi Bear show in debut in 1961 and ran for a total of 35 episodes. Snaggle Puss and Yakky Doodle were also segments on the show.
In these early years Hanna Barbera usually based their characters on a famous celebrity. Yogi was no exception. His personality was based upon Art Carney's Ed Norton character on the Honeymooners. Yogi was a bumbling bear who loved to steal picnic baskets from tourists and cause Ranger Smith havoc.
Jelly Stone Park was a take off of the famous Yellowstone Park.
Yog iwas voiced by Daws Butler who was famous for his voice work for Hana Barbera. He also does the voice of Quick Draw McGraw, Snaggle Puss and Huckleberry Hound.

BOO BOO- This little bear was Yogi's sidekick, confident and best friend. Boo Boo seemed almost like he was Yogi's conscience because he always tried to stop Yogi from causing trouble. Ranger Smith would talk to Boo Boo and try to get him to stop Yogi from causing trouble. Boo Boo would often say to Yogi: "Mr. Ranger is not going to like this." Boo Boowas voiced by the famous voice over artist Don Messick. He also does the voice of Ranger Smith in the Yogi Bear show. Messick was famous for his work with Hanna Barbera and provided the voice for Scooby-Doo, Astro from The Jetsons and Bamm-Bamm Rubble as well as many other Hanna Barbera cartoon characters..
Ranger Smith-- Ranger Smith is a former US army soldier whio is the authority figure in Jelly Stone Park. His goal is always to send Yogi to the St. Louis zoo. However, Ranger Smith's realtionship is up and down. Although Ranger Smith wants to bring Yogi to the zoo, it seems like he has some kind of repect for him.
Cindy Bear-- Cindy is Yogi's girlfriend and often disaproves on what Yogi is doing. She was voiced by Julie Bennett.
Yogi Bear Through the Years
Since appearing in his own show Yogi has been a busy bear over the last five decades. In the 1970's he appeared in Yogi's Gang(1973-1975), Yogi'sSpace Race(1978-1979), Galaxy Goofups(1978-1979), and Laff-A-Lympics(1977-1979). In the eighties and nineties Yogi has been on television as well in: Yogi's Treasure Hunt(1985-1986). The New Yogi Bear Show(1988-1989), and Yo Yogi!(1991-1992). Yogi was in the theatrical release Hey There, It's Yogi Bear! in 1964 and the made for t.v. movies Yogi's First Christmas(1980), and Yogi's Great Escape(1987).
