Updated on May 22, 2012

Cardfight!! Vanguard

Welcome to our information page on Cardfight!! Vanguard. Cardfight!! Vanguard (or CFV for short) is a trading card game, produced by Japanese TCG specialists Bushiroad, based on the anime of the same name. In Japan, Cardfight!! Vanguard is quickly becoming a major player in the TCG arena, challenging established games like Duelmasters and Yu-Gi-Oh! for popularity. There's also an increasing amount of interest in the United States, Europe and elsewhere in the world - a major United Kingdom distributor has just started supplying the English Language Edition.

On this page, you'll find an introduction to Cardfight!! Vanguard, including a brief introduction to deck building, a list of Cardfight!! Vanguard releases to date, buying guides, videos and plenty more besides. Enjoy!

Cardfight!! Vanguard is currently one of the most talked about CCGs in the Far East and is quickly gaining a following in the US and elsewhere in the world.

Basic Gameplay in Cardfight!! Vanguard

To start, each player selects a Grade 0 unit from their deck, placing it face down as their first Vanguard. They then shuffle their deck and draw 5 cards. Either player can then declare a 'Mulligan' if they don't like their hand - if they do so, they can shuffle thier hand back into their deck and draw five new cards - tihs hand MUST then be kept.

First player is then decided randomly, with the player going first being unable to attack in the first round. The goal is to inflict 6 damage points to your opponent (represented by cards in the damage zone). Each players turn proceeds through the Stand Phase, Draw Phase, Main Phase and Battle Phase. We'll bring you a fuller guide to gameplay very soon.

Love Cardfight Vanguard! Just started a few weeks ago and currently run a mixed deck of Nova Grapplers and Kagero. Want to make a Nova Grappler deck with Gold Rutile as my main deck but trial deck 3 Isn't out in the US yet so that's why I run Nova Grapplers and Kagero together.
