Dominion Deck Building Card Game

Updated on June 5, 2017

Dominion Game

I am always looking for exciting games to play with friends on an evening and weekend. My new favorite is Dominion, the deck building card game. It is strategy based and has a good theme.

You are a Monarch, as your parents were Monarchs before you. You are not content with the way that land is being governed and you want to build a Dominion so that people can live in peace and harmony. How do you do this? By building and employing people to help you in order to buy more land. The problem? Several other Monarchs (your opponents) have had the same idea! Can you build a deck that will give you the most silver and gold and allow you to buy the most provinces?

The classic version of Dominion is a must. As there are many different cards and you only need 10 sets to play a game, the game can be varied by using different card combinations giving the Dominion game excellent replayability.

Dominion Intrigue offers a whole new set of cards that make the game more interactive. This can be played as a standalone game or combined with Dominion original.

If you love treasure, go for Dominion prosperity! This contains some exciting treasure cards including Venture, Royal Seal and Bank. This is an expansion, not a standalone game, so needs to be combined with Dominion or Dominion Intrigue.

Rio Grande Games Dominion Seaside

Dominion seaside is an expansion containing some great new cards such as the Pearl Diver and the Pirate Ship. It is not a standalone game as it does not contain the Treasure and Victory cards, so you need to combine it with the original Dominion or Intrigue.

These two guys are hilarious!
