The Loving Family™ Dollhouse by Fisher-Price is one of the most popular dollhouses available. Fisher-Price makes several dollhouses. There is a My First Dollhouse™ for children two years and up, a Loving Family™ Family Manor, and the Loving Family™ Grand Dollhouse.
The Loving Family Grand Dollhouse and Loving Family Manor are the same scale. The My First Dollhouse is not. It has larger, chunkier pieces that are easier to grasp for very young children.
This is a review of the Loving Family Grand Dollhouse. I have purchased this dollhouse, so this is a real "review by owner".

I purchased the Loving Family Grand Dollhouse for my daughter for Christmas 2011. It is her first dollhouse, so I wanted her to love it. I also wanted a quality product, with lots of fun furniture and accessories, and something that encouraged pretend play.
I got all of these things with the Fisher-Price Grand Dollhouse! The first thing I want to mention is the "some assembly required". It was easy, especially since my husband did it all. It only took him about twenty minutes and he never asked for my help. That was great!
The dollhouse is pretty spacious. The sides of it fold up, so it can be stored easily. The fold out sides turn into an upper and lower room on each side of the home. There are four levels/rooms in the main area of the house, so there are eight rooms total. It is easy to partition off one of the levels with furniture if you feel it is necessary.
The home looks like a Victorian home from the outside and has a grand staircase going up to the second level. My daughter was a bit perplexed on how to get her family up to the other levels. She made a magic carpet and used a broom stick for transport. Works perfectly!
She plays with the dollhouse every day, so I feel like I got my money's worth. The dollhouse is sturdy, too. My son stood on the roof of one of the side rooms as he tried to climb up onto the table and it didn't break. I don't recommend doing that, of course!
The dollhouse came with a kitchen table, two chairs, two baby chairs that attach to the table, a mother, father, and boy and girl twins. One of the first things I did was set everyone around the table. Very cute!
Fisher-Price has a whole line of dollhouse furniture and accessories available for purchase to do with this dollhouse. I will review some of them, as we purchased several pieces and got some as gifts, as well.

Both the Grand and Super Sets can be purchased with a Caucasian family or an African-American family.

As I mentioned in my opening, Fisher-Price makes several other dollhouses. There is one scaled for younger children and also a manor house that is smaller.
