Make Gold Fast in Oblivion Remastered

As you explore the vast world of Cyrodiil, you'll encounter numerous shops in the cities that sell potions, spells, weapons, armor, clothing, and various services. The gold cost of items in Oblivion Remastered will vary and is largely based on your Merchantile skill. Charm spells can be cast on shopkeepers to increase their disposition towards you, making them more likely to sell items for lower prices. Additionally, gold can be utilized to bribe people - which is especially useful to increase their disposition towards you so they'll reveal vital information on quests.

The Septim is the primary currency in Tamriel, named after Tiber Septim, the first emperor of the Septim Empire. Gold can be earned, found as loot, or obtained from selling items to shops. Some quests reward you with gold. More money generally provides you with more freedom and gives you more opportunities in Oblivion Remastered. For example, a house can be purchased in each city in Cyrodiil. You'll need gold to purchase the houses in the game, as well as gold for the furnishings. Some homes are rather expensive, particularly Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad and Arborwatch in Anvil.

Below are some methods of making money fast in Oblivion Remastered. Note, this article will provide legit ways to obtain gold. It will not feature exploits, glitches, or mods, etc.

Selling Restore Fatigue Potions in Oblivion Remastered to Make Money Fast

Vineyards by Skingrad

One of the best methods to make a lot of gold fast in Elder Scrolls IV is to sell Fatigue Potions that can be created via Alchemy. Outside of the city of Skingrad is two vineyards and farmland. The vineyards have a ton of grapes. And there is a tomato farm near Skingrad as well. After about 4 days, the grapes and tomatoes will respawn. You're allowed to take all the food, as it is not considered stealing.

Use the grapes and tomatoes to create a bulk supply of Restore Fatigue Potions. Not only will your Alchemy increase, but you can also sell the Restore Fatigue Potions for gold. Remember that you need a Mortar and Pestle to mix ingredients.

Sell to Nilphas Omellian in Imperial City

There's a Dark Elf shopkeeper in the Market District of the Imperial City in Oblivion Remastered. Travel to a place called "The Merchants Inn." Nilphas has 2000 gold, so you'll be able to sell a lot of items at once. His gold can be increased to 3000 if you invest in his shop. Sell the Restore Fatigue Potions to him. You'll increase your Merchantile skill the more items you sell, giving you better selling prices over time.

Compete in the Arena to Earn Gold Fast in Elder Scrolls IV

The Arena is series of quests where you'll be a combatant fighting against other warriors. As you progress, you'll increase your rank and earn more gold. Matches take place from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. To compete in the Arena, simply visit the Arena District in the Imperial City. It's the only place where gladiators fight to the death in Cyrodiil. Speak to Owyn in the Bloodworks (underground area) to join and compete as a combatant. It's a relatively easy way to make gold quickly because all the quests take place in the Arena. If it's nighttime, simply wait till 9:00 AM in the morning. Over 5000 gold can be earned in the Arena questline.

Join the Dark Brotherhood to Earn Gold

Completing the assassination quests in the Dark Brotherhood is one of the best ways to make a lot money in Oblivion Remastered. While the questline takes longer than the Arena, you earn more overall gold. 800 gold is rewarded for an assassination. You'll ultimately earn over 16,000 gold by the end of the Dark Brotherhood. And that's not counting the loot you'll find in dungeons and other places.

How to Join Dark Brotherhood in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

  1. Kill and innocent character in Cyrodiil. Find someone who is friendly or neutral to you, like a beggar. Avoid killing guards or other NPCs who are hostile. It's best to do this at night or in a place where you won't be seen.
  2. Sleep in a safe place. After the murder, find a bed in an inn, your own house, or any other safe location. Sleep until the morning.
  3. Lucien Lachance will visit. When you wake up, Lucien Lachance will appear and congratulate you for your actions. He'll then offer you a chance to join the Dark Brotherhood

Join the Thieves Guild to Make Money Fast in Oblivion Remastered

It pays to be a thief in Oblivion Remastered. After you join the Thieves Guild, you'll have access to fences where you can sell stolen items. There are plenty of homes, shops, and other locations to steal valuable items from. Just remember that stealing is a crime in Cyrodiil. If you're caught, you'll either have to pay a fine or go to prison. If you resist arrest, the guards will become hostile toward you and will attempt to kill you.

I'd suggest using Potions of Invisibilty or Illusion magic such as "Shadow Shape" or "Ghost Walk" when stealing items. You don't really need a high Sneak Skill in Oblivion Remastered to be a successful thief. Invisibility and Chameleon spells work well. Additionally, if nobody witnesses your crime or hears you, then you can steal as much as you desire.

Two Ways to Join Thieves Guild in Oblivion Remastered

  • Find a Gray Fox wanted poster in the Imperial City, particularly in the Waterfront District.
  • Speak to a guard about the Gray Fox, and they will eventually mention the beggars in the Waterfront District.
  • Bribe Puny Ancus, a beggar in the Waterfront District, to learn about the Gray Fox. He will reveal information about the guild's initiation ceremony.
  • Attend the ceremony in the Garden of Dareloth at midnight, where you will be initiated into the Thieves Guild

Alternatively:

  • Commit a crime, such as stealing or pickpocketing, to get arrested.
  • After serving your time in jail, Myvrena Arano, a guild representative, will visit you with an invitation to join the guild.
  • This invitation will direct you to the Garden of Dareloth at midnight, where you can initiate the guild quest.

Good Places to Steal Items to Sell for Gold

The Red Diamond Jewelry shop is a good place to to steal from. It's located in the Market District of the Imperial City. At Castle Chorral, there's an expensive Varla Stone that can be stolen in a display case where the Countess sits.

Each Mage Guildhall has a lot of valuable items. And Cloud Ruler Temple has plenty of valuable items than can be stolen. You'll go there during the Main Quest. In general, many of the wealthy folk in Cyrodiil have valuable items in their houses.
