Melissa And Doug Floor Puzzles

Updated on July 9, 2011

Melissa and Doug Puzzles - Floor Puzzles

Jigsaw Puzzles are so much fun for the entire family. But kids really enjoy putting together puzzles. Kids enjoy puzzles so much, they will often put them together over and over again. Floor puzzles in particular are fun for kids because they seem so gigantic from their point of view. Children think it is fun to get down on the floor and put puzzles together.

Melissa and Doug have a wonderful line of floor puzzles perfect for little ones. The pieces are huge. They are small enough for little hands but large enough that you don't ever have to worry about losing the pieces.

These Melissa and Doug Wooden Puzzles are absolutely stunning. They are bright and colorful. Plus they are very durable and don't bend. They are also glossy so they are wipe-able which is great since often toddlers have sticky fingers. These toys will be around for years and years.

But what I like most about Melissa and Doug puzzles is they choose beautiful scenes that are also educational and encourage learning. For example the Melissa & Doug have a Solar System 48 pcs Floor Puzzle that includes all of the planets in our solar system. Children can learn about planets as they put the puzzle together. The floor puzzles are illustrated in beautiful detail.

My favorite puzzle is the Melissa & Doug Underwater 48-Piece Floor Puzzle. It has the prettiest scene which includes sharks and fish and many kind of under water creatures. Kids can point and talk about all the pretty colors and different kind of water life.

These are great looking puzzles. We used to work puzzles all of the time as kids, and, I have to admit, my husband and I usually do one during the winter ourselves.

I remember doing jigsaw puzzles in my formative years. I am sure it formed certain conjunctions and conjugations in my brain to work out spatial problems. Perhaps in my dotage I shall return to this form of entertainment and education rather than be a silver surfer.

Thanks Dobson. It's very true, each child is different. I have to admit I really love doing puzzles myself.

Aha, more items to add to the Christmas gift list. My daughter is a puzzle lover although my son just never seemed to care after he turned 10. I guess each child has their own interests, huh? These puzzles arue are full of color and will attract any child's attention.
