My Favorite Game on Wii, or anywhere...
Will they make a new one, one day?
When we first retired, we set up a Nintendo Wii at our little cabin in the woods. I would never have guessed that the first video game I put on the machine would become my favorite game... and I still play it, from time to time, nearly 5 years later. I've tried other variations of the Harvest Moon franchise, but I keep coming back to Tree of Tranquility. My ten-year-old grandson has the Wii U at home, in Austin, with a wide variety of games. However, when he came to visit for spring break, recently, he wanted to play Tree of Tranquility, with me.
We started a new game, together, using his name for the lead character. As we did, I was reminded, because I continued to keep the slot saved, that I had completed the entire game, had the baby grow up, and now had that game through the entire process, as well. One of these days, I'll finish it, and get to the third generation.
Back to the grandson visit. I hadn't played the game for awhile, and I was surprised, again, how much I enjoyed this farming game. I don't enjoy cut and slash, but I love the Harvest Moon farming and ranching game aspects - along with the interactions with other people in the game... the characters... not other gamers. This is all self-contained. This is a 2008 game, after all. Anyway, after he got the game started over the several days his family was visiting, my wife and I realized we wanted to keep playing the game, create each of the rainbows, have the character married, have their baby and get their "friends" in the game married with children, as well. After a few weeks, we have now done that. One more wedding to go...
When the quest to tell about "something you have done" came up, I just couldn't pass this one up. Call me crazy, but I love this game! ;-)
