My LDD Creations

Updated on June 29, 2013

What Are My Creations Based On?

I want to create simple Legos that are not produced by the Lego company. I do this by getting pictures of my topic in Lego form and not in Lego form. I love building with Legos, and LDD (Lego Digital Designer) gives me the chance to build whatever I want with all of the Lego bricks. While using LDD, I am shocked with what I have created, and I want to share these creations with you.

The Android

Project #1

The first Lego to be featured on this site is my first project, the Android from the phone company. I have an iPhone 4S, but the Android mascot has never failed to please me. So, I had to create the Lego Android myself. I got some pictures from Google and went to work.

The Picture That I Used

This was the view that I had of the Lego Android when I started creating it. I did not use any YouTube Videos to help myself out because I wanted to create a Lego Android based on what I saw as if it were a freestyle. I always need a Lego in front of me, and I can rebuild some of them just by looking at them.

The Result

Without any instructions or YouTube videos, this is what I came up with. As you can see, the Lego Android is still in the LDD format, and in my opinion, the details are excellent. That is my own creation right there, and I am very proud of it. My Lego Android Creation contains around 100 pieces, so it won't be too hard to assemble. That is my Lego Android mascot, and I hope to have many more Lego creations of my own to come.

Red Angry Bird

Project #2

The red angry bird is a lot harder to make than the Android because the Angry Bird has a lot of detail. The main fact is that I used a really detailed picture of a Lego red angry bird as you will see below. This is what the original red angry bird looks like.

The Picture That I Used

This was the picture that I used. As I mentioned before, it is very detailed, and my final product isn't picture perfect like the Android. This was a very complicated Lego to build, but I got through it.

The Result

"Red Angry Bird+Super Mario Bros Mushroom"

Well, that's what this Lego reminds me of. It isn't quite as picture perfect as the Android, but it is still good progress. The task I had was hard especially since this was a free for all (for me). In my opinion, the beak, eyes, and upper part are perfect, but not working on the white pieces to make the bird look like a circle makes the red Angry Bird have a similar shape to the Super Mario Mushroom (also known as "Shroom"). I think overall I did good, but this time, I think the original picture wins.

Sorry Angry Birds, I WILL make up for this with the Blue Bird (the easiest one).

Blue Angry Bird

Project #3

I needed redemption after that mess for the red angry bird, so I decided to make the blue angry bird. I did not use any videos of the sort because the picture looked easy, and I know my way around the pieces.

The Picture That I Used

This picture was easier to work with than the red angry bird. I had a hard time figuring out how to get the red part under the blue bird's eyes, but everything else came easy to me. I couldn't put the hair onto the blue bird because LDD wouldn't let me. Anyway, this picture was a lot easier than the red angry bird, and I had a lot of fun with it.

The Result

Couldn't Be Better

I think that I did a picture perfect job with this Lego just like the Android. I will easily admit that this was my easiest assignment since the blue Angry Birds aren't exactly big birds. The picture about helped me a lot, but in the future, I might not use a practice picture made of Legos for one of my future projects.

Major Update

I am considering opening my own eBay store where I offer Legos that I make from LDD as well as retired Lego Sets for sale. I think that eBay will make me a big profit, so I will be going there in the near future.
