Photon Shockwave

Updated on March 9, 2014

Photon Shockwave

The Photon Shockwave Booster Pack was released on November 15, 2011. Photon Shockwave is the first booster pack for Zexal that features a non-XYZ Monster on the front cover known as Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. The name is quite catching, and with a rising fan base for XYZ Monsters, this is the booster pack for anyone. Find the best ways to stop XYZ Monsters right in their tracks, get new ones, and XYZ Summon them quicker with the Photon Shockwave Booster Pack!

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is on the front cover of the Photon Shockwave Booster Pack and is a Level 8 Dragon-Type LIGHT monster with 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF. They look nothing alike, but Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is the new version of the Blue Eyes White Dragon with an effect for today's game of Yugioh. You can Special Summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon from your hand by Tributing 2 monsters on your side of the field with 2000 ATK or more. When Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is involved in a battle (when it attacks or is attacked), you can banish Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon and the monster that was battling with this card. If the monster banished by this effect was an XYZ Monster, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon gains 500 ATK for each XYZ Material the XYZ Monster had before it was banished. Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon can help to XYZ Summon the strongest XYZ Monster, Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon.

My Opinion on Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon

As soon as 5 new booster packs are created, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon's value will skyrocket. When Konami introduces a new show, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon could very easily be worth $20 or even $30. I would get Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon now while it is cheap so that you save money and you get it right when there are even more XYZ Monster fans!

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is an amazing card.

Kagetokage

Kagetokage is a Level 4 Effect Monster with 1100 ATK and 1500 DEF. When you Normal Summon a Level 4 monster from your hand, you can Special Summon Kagetokage from your hand. Even though you cannot Synchro Summon using this card as a Synchro Material, you can XYZ Summon using this card right away. In the Photon Shockwave booster pack, Konami is trying to make XYZ Monsters dominate over Synchro Monsters, so the easy to Summon monsters can only be XYZ Summoned.

Junk Defender

Junk Defender is a Level 3 EARTH Warrior-Type monster with 500 ATK and 1800 DEF. When your opponent declares a direct attack, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, during either players' turn, Junk Defender gains 300 DEF. Junk Defender would work nicely with Super Crashbug.

Sergeant Electro

Sergeant Electro is a Level 4 FIRE Machine-Type monster with 1600 ATK and 1300 DEF. Once per turn, you can select 1 face-down Spell or Trap Card that your opponent controls. As long as Sergeant Electro is on your side of the field, face-down Spell and Trap Cards targeted bythiscard's effect cannot be activated. However, they can be activated once Sergeant Electro is taken off of the field, but all you have to worry about now is Monster Cards.

Infernity Knight

Infernity Knight is a Level 3 monster with 1400 ATK and 400 DEF. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can discard 2 cards from your hand to Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. Losing 2 cards from your hand may seem to be a lot to lose, but you can use this effect again and again. Infernity Knight will keep on coming back to the field as long as you have 2 or more cards in your hand. Infernity monsters do better when you have no cards in your hand, so having Infernity Knight make you discard a lot of cards from your hand is a good thing for an Infernity Deck.

Rescue Rabbit

Rescue Rabbit is a Level 4 monster with 300 ATK and 100 DEF. that cannot be Special Summoned from your Deck. By banishing this face-up card you control, you can Special Summon 2 Level 4 or lower Normal Monsters with the same name from your Deck. These monsters are destroyed during the End Phase, but since those 2 monsters are the same card, they also have the same Level. You can XYZ Summon an XYZ Monster right away depending on the Levels of the Normal Monsters that were Special Summoned by this effect. The effect of Rescue Rabbit can only be used once per turn, but if you want to easily XYZ Summon a Rank 4 or lower XYZ Monster, Rescue Rabbit is the best card to get the job done.

Daybreaker

Daybreaker is a Level 4 monster with 1700 ATK and 0 DEF. When this card is Special Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Daybreaker from your hand. This is a good effect if you want to quickly XYZ Summon a Rank 4 XYZ Monster, and you can use this effect multiple times per turn. That means if you have 2 Daybreakers in your hand and Special Summon a third one from your Graveyard, you will have 3 Level 4 monsters on your side of the field all with 1700 ATK and 0 DEF.

Photon Cerberus

Photon Cerberus is a Level 3 monster with 1300 ATK and 600 DEF. During the turn this card is Normal Summoned, neither player can activate Trap Cards while this card is face-up on the field. This effect will allow your monsters to attack your opponent without you worrying about an opponent activating a Trap Card that would stop the attack or destroy the attacking monster.
