Shadowrun Returns Hack the Elevator in Telestrian Industries

Updated on August 5, 2013

In Shadowrun Returns, the hero must assemble a team and get into the Telestrian Industries. More specifically, the hero must get to the CEO's office and find the Aegis. The Aegis is the bug killer formula that will help the hero put down the immortal bugs and the Universal Brotherhood. Only then can the hero get to Jessica Watts and find vengeance for Sam Watts. However, the hero will find the way to the CEO's office of the Telestrian Industries fraught with dangers and obstacles. First the hero may run out of money and will have to go on the Corporate Extraction quest. Then the hero and his team of shadowrunners will have to get past all the guards in the Telestrian Industries. They will have to face off against real heavy gunners and turrets and overwhelming enemies whilst deploying a decker to hack the elevator to get to the CEO's office. This means that the hero must choose his team carefully and employ the right tactics or risk being outnumbered and outgunned by the enemies.

Shadowrun Returns Hack the Elevator in the Telestrian Industries

The mage hero should choose the following to join his team of shadowrunners -

  • the decker Dodger. This NPC is essential in hacking the elevator and is a must. Other deckers can also be used, but the deckers must be preserved till the end of the quest. Otherwise the elevator cannot be hacked.
  • someone with high damage potential and who is a cheap shadowrunner to hire. An example is Coyote.
  • a rigger who can control 1 or 2 drones.

From the entrance of Telestrian Industries, head forward and open the door. Two weak guards are guarding the first room. Hide behind cover and eliminate them. One of the guards will drop a security card when he dies. Grab that and go to the security console near the door. Activate this and the doors will open. Go through the corridor to the next section. Hide behind the desks. Try not to send the hero into the room. Use Coyote and release the drones into the room. Hit the largest enemy (the troll) and the mage with as much firepower as possible.

Shadowrun Returns the Telestrian Industries

The shadowrunners need to sieve through the information on the three desks to unlock the door ahead. Then sneak past the heavy turrets and move right to the next room.

Defeat the enemies in the room. There will be three desks with information on them in the room. Sieve through all three desks and a piece of paper with the door's code will fall through. Now do not open the door and do not enter the next room yet. Instead position your troops to the right side of the room behind cover. Now, send the rigger's drone to open the door and move the drone to the right and into the next room.

This will draw out the guards in the room with the turrets. They will enter the hero's room, where the hero's shadowrunners will be waiting to take them down. Note that there will also be an enemy rigger south of the room who will attack from the opposite side. Take down the drone and the rigger. Defeat all the enemies and then wait and make sure no more enemies enter the room.

Then sneak all the shadowrunners across the door and to the right and into another office. Finally, move the shadowrunners up from the office to the room where the decker panel is. Move Dodger or a decker into the decker's control console and hack into the system. Surround this room with the hero's most damaging shadowrunners and prepare to take the heavy gunners who will enter the room. Once they appear, you have to take them out in one round with as much firepower as possible. Otherwise the heavy gunner will take out the hero's shadowrunner in one attack. Once the two heavy gunners are defeated, the decker can take as time as possible in the Matrix. Remember to reconfigure the turrets so that they will attack each other. Then hack into the elevator control and leave for the CEO's office.

Shadowrun Returns Take Back Control of the Elevators in Executive Actions Quest

The hero and the shadowrunners reach the CEO's office. Here, the hero must position his shadowrunners to the right of the room that contains the decker control console. At least one of the shadowrunners must take cover behind the vase in the centre of the room. Enemy deckers will take back control of the elevator. Guards will pour into the CEO's office and try to put down the shadowrunners. From their cover positions it will be quite easy to for the shadowrunners to defeat the guards. Then wait for the decker to take back control of the elevator in the matrix.

Once the elevators are under the control of the hero again, no more guards will enter the CEO's office. Within the matrix, the decker will find the location of the Aegis sample. It is in a safe with Eric Silverstar.

However, there is one elevator that the hero cannot control. It is the one that leads to Eric Silverstar's office.

Shadowrun Returns the Morning After

The hero needs to enter three rooms here and convince the people inside to leave. Then plant the commlink chips in the communication consoles in each room.

The Baron advises the hero to hide in the building and then dress up as a janitor. This part of the scenario will be easy if the hero has a charisma of 4 and above.

  • Go to the room on the left and advise the guard to leave the room. Then plant the commlink chip into the communication console box.
  • Go to the room on the right and the top and advise the person inside to go for a smoke. Then steal the cable and plant the commlink chip into the communication console box.
  • Then go to the room on the right and the bottom and use the cable on the computer south of the elf. When he leaves, plant the commlink chip into the communication console box.
  • Return to the guard in the first room and he will let the hero go up to meet the Eric Silverstar.

In his office, Eric Silverstar questions the hero and then leaves the room. When he leaves, take the opportunity to go through the five pictures. To activate the hidden wall, use the painting in the following sequence -

  • duty
  • efficiency
  • vigilance

The hidden wall will part, allowing the hero to reach the safe. The safe requires the DNA from the smoked cigar (in the previous room) to activate. Then get the Aegis Sample and escape.

As the hero tries to escape, he will be arrested by detective McKlusky. He will be brought to James Telestrian III in his mansion. In there, the hero will learn the truth about the aegis sample. He will be required to take some aegis weapons to the universal brotherhood and take part in the final battle.
