SWTOR Datacrons: Tatooine Datacrons Locations Guide
Sandy SWTOR Datacrons!
SWTOR Datacrons - Tatooine Datacrons.
SWTOR Datacrons: Not-at-all-dusty guide showing clearer than a mirage the locations of the five Tatooine datacrons to be found in Star Wars: The Old Republic / SWTOR.
The iconic planet of Tatooine is a mid-level (24-28) world in SWTOR. Here we'll show you how to easily locate the five SWTOR datacrons hidden among sand dunes and banthas!
Total rewards from Tatooine datacrons:

SWTOR Datacrons: Tatooine Datacron 1 - Empire ONLY.
Tatooine datacron number one.
Where?
- Area: Mos Ila.
- Co-ords (X,Y): 728, 3133.
What?
- SWTOR Datacron: +3 Cunning.
- SWTOR Codex: Galactic History 39: The Third Great Schism.
How?
From the Mos Ila Spaceport head to 442, 3106. You'll see a large triangular tarpaulin: jump onto the post at the edge of it and head across the left edge to the building opposite with the dome structure. From there, head past the solar-panels and to the left of the small dome. Drop down onto roof just north of that dome. You'll see in front of you and a little to the right a wall crossing to another group of buildings to the east: make your way there.
Upon reaching the other side, go around the right hand side of the small metal dome and along the small section of wall heading to the south. Here's where the fun begins! Jump onto the small metal object attached to the side of the building (some sort of air-con?), then to the next natural progression: the part connecting the two building structures. Now for the hardest part. Jump onto the metal 'scaffolding' above the two redish tarpaulins, then onto the pipe connected to the side of the building on your right hand side (south-west), and then onto the walkway connecting the two groups of buildings. Head across it to the south and jump first onto the pipe to the left, followed by the cylindrical object, then the 'scaffolding', and finally drop down onto the wall-with-the-arch below.
After crossing that small wall, you should be on the western edge of a building that touches the rock-face on its south-western corner. Looking to the right (south-east) you'll see a small gap between the building and the rocks: go through it and follow the southern edge of the building until you're above the short-wall-connecting-the-two-buildings below. Jump down and cross to the other building to the south, make your way across its roof -- past a dome on your left -- and jump down onto the next roof with the datacron sparkling below!

Tatooine datacron number two.
Where?
- Area: Jundland - Eastern Wound.
- Co-ords (X,Y): 2073, -577.
What?
- SWTOR Datacron: +3 Willpower.
- SWTOR Codex: Galactic History 42: The Nevoota Extinction.
How?
From Ridgeside Sentry Post (1633, -535), head south for a few meters and then follow the path to the north-east across the 'bridge' that joins the two sides of the canyon (Republic players, head to the south-east from Outpost Largona). You should already see the pink glow of the datacron.
After reaching the other side of the canyon follow the path to the right/south-east and travel past the datacron on your left. You'll go past a sand people flag and some wind-shields, but before reaching the sand people buildings, go to the right, to the ledge at 2073, -438 and make your way down to the large piece of rock jutting from the canyon wall. Following that, head through the twists and turns of the cave and you'll eventually come out into daylight at the datacron you observed earlier at 2073, -577.

Tatooine datacron number three.
Where?
- Area: The Dune Sea (barely!)
- Co-ords (X,Y): -621, -24.
What?
- SWTOR Datacron: +3 Aim.
- SWTOR Codex: Galactic History 38: The Tyrant of Onderon.
How?
From Mos Anek (-30, 328), take the path going west, followed by north-west. Keep that heading and diverge from the path as it curls to the north. In front of you, you should see a sand dune going up to the left: head for this.
Republic players, the quickest way here is for you to head through the Outlaw's Den from Outpost Salara and then join onto the path going to the south/southeast. Don't take the path to the west into the dune sea. Head for -165, -218 and then go up the sand dune to the west.
After going up the sand dune, head through the heroic area towards -608, -50. This co-ordinate is on the western edge of this area. You're in the right place if you see a few large scraps of metal upon some rocks. Go all the way to the edge and look down: you'll see the datacron (-621, -24) and a few small ledges on the way down to it you can use to break up the descent.

Tatooine datacrons numbers four & five.
Where?
- Area: The Dune Sea.
- Co-ords (X,Y): -2402, -1383.
What?
- SWTOR Datacron: Blue Matrix Shard.
- SWTOR Codex: Galactic History 40: Czerka Discovers Kashyyyk.
- SWTOR Datacron: +3 Strength.
- SWTOR Codex: Galactic History 41: The Droid Rights Movement.
How?
From Outpost Zaroshe (-683, -588) for Empire or Outpost Thorazan (-1124, -1331) for Republic, head across the dune sea to the sandcrawler at -2334, 9. From here you need to wait for the Jawa Balloon to come by. The balloon is very slow; you'll have to be patient! Once it does arrive, prepare for a slow journey to the other sandcrawler -- where the swtor datacrons are -- at -2402, -1383.
You can jump from the balloon to the end of the sandcrawler with the blue datacron, or you can wait for the balloon to get closer to the other end of the sand crawler and use the method shown in the video. Choose whichever you're most comfortable with: no one wants to be having to take a second balloon ride!
The most foolproof method I know of for the final datacron at the side of the sandcrawler, is to position yourself directly above the datacron, set your character to walk ( " / " key on the numpad) and tap your movement key cautiously until you fall off the edge onto the datacron platform, as shown in the video.
