Types of RC Planes To Buy Online

Updated on March 14, 2011

With the advent of Internet and advanced technology, buying any product whether it is an electronic device or a vintage art has become very easy, so buying or shopping for an RC plane online is a not a difficult task. You just need to have some knowledge or experience about these planes, their types, and some other things and you can go ahead with your purchase online and fulfill your wishes. RC planes are also called as radio controlled planes as they are powered with radio signals that communicate orders to sensors placed on the control surfaces of these planes. There are various types of RC planes to buy online such as:

Radio Controlled Gliders

RC glider types of planes are supported by the aerodynamic nature of their wings and also have a radio control mechanism to make them fly at high altitudes. Radio control gliders are available in different designs, shapes, colors, and sizes and range anywhere between 20 to 500 dollars.

Trainer RC Planes

A trainer RC plane works with internal combustion engines like we have engines in cars, spinning the propeller and propulsion. There are two types of trainers: Electric RC trainer planes and gas RC trainer planes. These planes are commonly available online and also through various local hobby shops and come in different sizes, colors, and designs. They can range from anywhere between 50 to 500 dollars and are the bestsellers.

Radio Controlled Blimps

Blimps are RC planes shaped like a spaceship or hot air balloon and work with three-phase electric motors providing high performance and low fuel consumption.

Blimps are powered with batteries, independent of those used for radio receivers but are not considered to be best selling planes.

Pulse Jet RC Planes

A pulse jet type of RC plane is a simple jet engine, which is still used by many model airplane enthusiasts and hobbyists around the world.

These are available both in local hobby shops and online at affordable prices and come in different shapes, colors, and sizes. Pulse jet RC types are also famous among many kids.

Turbine Engine Radio Controlled Planes

Turbine engines in these planes work in the same way as those used in passenger airplanes, but obviously on a small scale.

Therefore, these planes have high power and can achieve higher speeds and heights and that is why they are the most expensive RC planes. These planes are sold at a range starting from 500 dollars or more.

Other types of RC plane models include RC sport planes, RC aerobatic planes, vintage RC planes, RC floatplanes, remote control warbirds, RC UFO flying saucers, ornithopters, and various types of remote controlled and radio controlled helicopters.

They are all available in various types of sizes and colors and range from anywhere between 50 to 500 dollars or more. You can buy any of these planes online with best trusted online shopping portals like Ebay and Amazon who do have customer friendly return policy in case of damage of an RC product while shipping and handling.
