"How to fight Depression"

I had been living with depression for twenty years, and never knew I had it. This is a problem in our society today. There are so many people out there that's suffering from deep depression and don't even know they have it. The sad thing about having depression is you think you're just going through life's ups and downs, but depression is a mental sickness that attacks millions of people each year without their knowledge. Depression make you feel like all hope is gone, in fact I think people dwell more on death than they do on life. Your life becomes one big ball of negativity that you try and get away from it. Depression takes away your joy and happiness and replaces it with sadness, doom and gloom. No matter how hard you try you to can't get your joyfulness and happiness back, it keeps evading you. Depression is a one way train, going no where fast. It depletes your energy and makes you just want to sleep and do nothing. I finally realized I had to get involved with some positive things to keep myself occupied so depression didn't rule my life. when you have deep depression, your mind is busy, busy and never stop thinking; about sad or bad things that depresses you even more. I finally went to get help, this is when I found out about the depression, because I had no idea at all. The doctor gave me medication that really help calm my mind down and I could think normal thoughts again. The medication sort of took me off of the roller coaster that I was always on. I made up in my mind that I would start doing things to help me be more healthy and happy.

Here's a few tips that will help ward off depression"

1. Go the doctor first and get an assessment of your condition, so you can be treated for it.

2.Make sure yoy take your medication, until your doctor take you off of it.

3.Join a local gym and start a exercise regime, 3-4 times a week.

4. Get involved with your hobbies.

5. A nutritional diet is important too.

6. Get rid of sugar and carbohydrates, having some every now and then want hurt.

7.Find a good buddy you can hang with and talk to when you're at your lowest moments.

8. make sure you keep God and prayer in your life because you really can't do anything with out him.

9.Losing some wieght will give your ego a boost.

All your efforts will be rewarded by your positives actions, and you will begin to feel proud of yourself. I'm no longer on medication, and I'm riding on a natural high with all the positive things that I'm doing in my life; like, writing, art networking, reading spiritual books, making handmade jewelry and being happy just to be me. If you suffer from depression, don't let it control your life, it's not he end of the world. Remember as long as you're alive there's hope , so get busy doing positive happy things, and one day you 'll wonder when did your depression leave you.
