The Essential Benefits Of Fresh Garlic"

Garlic has many garlic medicinal purposes and benefits according to Independent Living.   Many special powers has been attributed to fresh garlic through the ages.

inadditions to warding off vampires, garlic has been said to cure illnesses, boost energy, brain power, and expand life expectancy.  Indeed, garlic can do all of these things, (though it's effectiveness against vampires might be disputed.).  Fresh garlic not only adds zest to our foods, but it also protects us from lethal diseases.  As a naturak antibiotic and antiviral agent, garlic can help ward off many types of infections.

as if that wasn't enough, garlic has properties that protect us against herat disease and cancer, two of the biggest killers in the untied states.  Garlic contains a number of sulfur compounds.  among them are diallyl disulfide, diallyl trisulfide, and allicin.  These substances all play a different role in promoting  health and immunity.  The chemical allicin, which is found in garlic  and onions, has cancer fighting properties.

Scientists have observed that allicin intercepts carcinogens before they can attack cells in the body. Garlic is a surprisingly strong germ eradicator. It is capable of killing streptococcus, staphylococcus, E.Coli, and a number of other disease-causing bacteria.  Additionally, some parasites ( such as hookworms and round worm), fungi , and viruses can be destroyed by the chemical compounds contained in garlic.

Garlic is especially effective against flu. To help ward the flu, colds and other infections, we should consider taking garlic on a regular basis. Garlic enhances our body's production of antibodies, thus helping our immune system fight off infections.  Many who take garlic for health reason ( and garlic is today one of the most popular herbal supplements) prefer taking deodorized garlic  tablets instead of eating fresh garlic cloves.

Fresh Garlic delives the maxiumum health benefits.  But it is pungent and does casue fiery breath!, instaed of undertaking the unpleasnt job of eating garlic raw, we might try adding garlic to pizza, ppasta, soups, chicken, and seafood dishes.  Inaddition to adding more flavor, we'll be adding to our health.

Dosage: chew two to six garlic cloves daily (The high end will give you the maximum benefit) or take 800 mg tablets two to four times daily.

I love garlic. In fact, I daily eat a bread (roti or chapati) mixed with fresh grinded garlic using extra virgin olive oil. That is not only delicious, it is also very healthy and reduces high blood-pressure.

      Thanks for a good hub.

Very Interesting facts, my fiancé loves to cook with garlic and actually I wasn't a big fan of garlic until I met him. I noticed a difference in the quality of my food since I have adopted his method and style of cooking.

When my son had a wart on his finger - we tried a few different over the counter wart removal products - nothing worked. Then someone told me to treat it with garlic. He put a thin slice of garlic on the wart and then covered it with a plaster. Changed it daily. In two weeks the wart had dropped off and the finger is as good as new! So that is how powerful it is! Nice hub.
