Nitin is a certified life coach, executive coach, writer, husband, and father. His passion is to help people become their best version.

As we approach the New Year, I want to share with you 10 things that will change your life for the better.

This year has been a nightmare but the new year 2021 can be the best year of your life.

1. Let Go Of The Past

It is very important to let go of the past.

Don’t dwell on the past but look forward to the future.

Letting go of the past will liberate you to look forward and plan for the future.

What is past is gone. Nothing can be done about it now, so let it go and try to concentrate on the present and future. If you hold on to the past then it will act as a burden in your life which will slow down your progress.

So let the baggage go. Release it in your mind and watch it go out and disappear forever.

Once this baggage goes out of your life, you will feel light and it will increase your speed.

First, you will start walking then running then flying, and then soaring on your wings like an eagle.

That’s what you were born for - to soar in the sky like an eagle flying majestically in the beautiful blue skies.

2. Establish A Daily Routine

If you have not already done so, it would be a good idea to establish a daily routine in your life. This daily routine will speed up your progress towards success exponentially.

Get yourself organized to set a daily routine. This includes when you will get up and what you will do throughout the day.

Keep on doing this for some time until it becomes an established routine for you. All successful people have daily routines where they do things the same way every day.

This is vital for your success in the New Year.

3. Do Something That You Are Afraid Of Doing

There is a saying which goes like this “ Everything that you want lies on the other side of fear."

All human beings are afraid of something or the other. These fears are also known as phobias and there are hundreds of phobias in the world.

There is a phobia of heights, water, and facing cameras. There is a fear of dogs, fear of cats, and fear of the darkness.

Again some people fear being forgotten, fear crowds, and have so many other fears.

You may be having a few phobias in your life and these phobias are keeping you from achieving your goals.

In the New Year, decide to do the various things that you are afraid of doing.

You will be surprised to see how much you have been missing all these days because of some foolish fears.

So go ahead do something that you are fearful of doing, overcome that fear, and experience phenomenal success.

4. Learn New Habits

For having good success in the new year, you will have to develop new habits.

Psychologists tell us that it takes about 21 days to form a new habit.

So just sit down and write down a few good habits that you would like to develop in the new year. Then intentionally go about developing these habits

After 21 days, you will find that you don’t need to put so much effort into the new habits.

They will become a part of your daily life. It’s not as tough as you think.

5. Declutter Your Life

One of the curses in this generation is the tremendous emphasis on materialism. The whole world is preoccupied with gathering things or materials all the time.

This has resulted in cluttering our homes and living spaces in an unprecedented way. The cluttering that we have in our lives, have reduced our moving space.

The best way to move forward is to de-clutter our homes, our lives, and our thoughts. Start living simple, minimalist lives free from the materialistic spirit.

Decide in the New Year to de-clutter whatever you can from your homes and from your minds. Get rid of things — give them to needy people so that not only will you have more space in your home but you will also help some needy souls.

Believe me, when you get rid of these things, you will realize that you never even needed them in the first place. It’s amazing how we hold onto things that we don’t even need. This limits our own progress in the long run.

6. Get In Tune With Nature

Another beautiful thing that you can do in the New Year is to get in tune with nature.

Take time to walk through the woods, to scale the hills and mountains, and enjoy the fresh air of the oceans.

Basically, human beings need to get in tune with nature. Just become quiet and listen to the beautiful chirping of the birds and the roaring sound of the oceans.

Listen to the captivating sound of crickets in the grass. Getting in sync with nature will free your soul to scale new heights and undertake new adventures in your life.

This will open up new horizons of opportunities for you that you had never anticipated before.

7. Eat Healthy Locally Available Food

While we are aiming for success in life, we should not neglect our health and our eating habits.

It was Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine who said: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine thy food.”

Give attention to what you are eating. Eat healthy, organic, and locally available food.

Keep your health at an optimum level.

8. Set Goals For The Whole Year

Begin the new year by setting up achievable and smart goals.

If you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail. The future belongs to those who are prepared for it.

So take the time to think about and write down your goals for the new year on paper.

Throughout the year remind yourself of the goals and evaluate yourself in light of the goals. Goal setting is of vital importance if you want to succeed in the New year.

9. Establish A Life-Work Balance

Last, but not least, endeavor to establish a healthy life-work balance.

Life is not just about working all the time. There are many other important aspects of life that we need to give attention to as well.

We need to spend time with our families and we need to have some entertainment too. We must have frequent social interactions also.

As we learn the art of balancing work and life, we are well on our way to success - wholesome success.

10. Read Some Inspirational Books

There are so many motivational books available in the marketplace.

“Think and Grow Rich” By Napolean Hill is a classic on Personal Development.

“Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki is a masterpiece on how to grow and manage wealth.

“How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie has sold over 15 million copies and is another classic on winning friends.

“The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale is a powerful book on positive thinking.

There are some classic inspirational and motivational books by many world-famous motivators like John Maxwell, Tony Robbins, Les Brown, Gary Vaynerchuk, Grant Cardone, Proctor Gallagher, and others.

Readers are leaders. Spend time every day to read something inspirational and motivational. This will change your life, change your mindset, and change your business.

Highly successful people like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates read books daily. They do so even now when they are highly successful.

I cannot emphasize more about this habit of reading good books. It will keep you motivated and inspired throughout the new year.

So go ahead and implement the things mentioned above.

You will find that you are on your way to success in the New Year. These habits will change your life in the New Year.

Wishing you the very best of health, wealth, and happiness in the New Year.
