Although I'm human, I try to live a life of positivity and happiness. I enjoy seeing others find joy and live their best lives.

We have all had issues with our self-confidence at one time or another. Sometimes it hits us hard as adolescents and sometimes it creeps up on us in our later years after life has knocked us down a few times. Some people struggle very little, while some have no idea what confidence even is because they have never felt it. Whatever the situation, we can all use a boost in our confidence at times.
Here are 10 quotes to help lift you up when you’re confidence needs a boost!

1. "Our weaknesses are often an overuse of our strengths." - unknown

Most of us are aware that our strengths and our weakness are often one and the same. I thought this was an interesting quote because I had never heard it said quite that way before. Think of it this way, if one is sensitive that can be a strength, unless it’s overused the it may not be so desirable anymore. Find out what your strengths are and hone them like a superpower because even superheroes need to learn how to use there powers at first. So that attribute that you think is holding you back, with the right mindset, could propel you into something marvelous.

2. "Confidence is silent. Insecurities are loud." - unknown

We have all been around these people. The ones that boast and brag. We think that cockiness is confidence but it really is not. That is something people who lack confidence do. Generally, truly confident people don’t walk around talking about how confident they are. They don’t need to because they are confident.

3. "Confidence isn't walking into a room thinking you're better than everyone. It’s walking in not having to compare yourself to anyone at all" - unknown

When you are truly confident, you will find no use in comparing yourself to anyone else. You will know what makes you wonderful and beautiful just as you can see what makes them wonderful and beautiful, even if it is different. You won't look at where they are on their journey and feel bad for where you are on your journey because you know that all of our lives unfold at their own pace and no two people's stories are exactly the same. We embrace others traits and encourage others to do well.

4. "Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong." - Peter T McIntyre

It often takes a lot of confidence to admit when you’re wrong. If we don't fear being wrong, we are not afraid to put ourselves out there and try new things. That is confidence at it's best.

5. "If you don’t ask, the answer is always no." - Nora Roberts

So many of us have been afraid to ask because of the dreaded "no" we may hear. Yet we are not afraid of not asking and the answer being no. I think the older we get, we get a natural confidence that makes us go for it more. After, no is just a word. You may even get a "yes!"

6. "You were born an original work of art. Stay original always. Originals cost more than imitations." - Suzy Kassem

We all know this to be true with art, especially if you’ve ever tried to purchase an original painting. Why wouldn’t it be true for people? There is a reason we are all made different. That is not an accident and you were made to be you. Really think about that concept when you feel bad when comparing yourself to others.

7. "Confidence has no competition." - Nikitha Mallavolu

When we are confident in ourselves and our abilities, we are proud of others successes. I'm not talking about friendly competition, that can be good for people. However, competing in a way that is unhealthy is not good. If everyone were confident, we wouldn't compare or compete. We may also find that we are all kinder to one another.

8. "A million likes will never be enough if you don’t like yourself." - Nicole Floss

In a world that is ruled by social media, no wonder people struggle so much with how others see them. We are constantly posting and waiting for those likes and affirmation from others. All the while, we are constantly comparing our lives with the highlight reels of others' lives. It will all fall short if you don't work on your confidence from the inside out.

9. "The quickest way to acquire self-confidence is to do exactly what you are afraid to do."

When we face things that scare us and we make it through, we gain confidence from that. When we feel like we can do things that we once feared or accomplish something that seemed almost impossible, we feel like we can do anything. Confidence is not being afraid of who you really are so it’s natural if you conquer fear in any way shape of form, it will build your confidence.

10. "Confidence is like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it gets."

Just like negativity and positivity, confidence is something that needs practice and nurturing. It’s natural that the more we do something, generally the better we get at it. Practice being more confident. Look for your strong points and improve the negative. It can sound like a daunting task to feel better about yourself but you are worth it and have been made to be you.
