Myth or fact, in every age and in every part of the world,herbs and plants have been prized for their amazing healing powers.Here are some widely valued medicinal plants and their purported powers:

Medicinal Plants

Aloe- fights wrinkles and baldness;heals burns

Anise- cures indigestion

Basil- relieves headaches

Bay leaf- cures deafness

Chamomile- relieves stomach upset and insomnia

Fennel- controls the appetite

Garlic- increases physical strength

Marigold- improves eyesight

Oregano- aids digestion and stimulates the appetite

Parsley- sweetens the breath

Rosemary- improves memory

Sage- cures fever and epilepsy;prevents the plague

Summer savory- relieves bee and wasp stings

Sweet marjoram- relieves chest congestion

Thyme- controls coughs;acts as a deodorant


Herbs are being used more and more everyday as a natural way to relieve many ailments. This is just a list of some of them that I thought you might enjoy. Herbs are very easy to grow in containers or right in your garden.Try planting some this year.
