Possible Causes of Hairloss

Stress and Anxiety

Stress and anxiety are two factors which are somehow interrelated to each other and which we can’t get away in life. The feeling of anxiety over something results to stress which is evident by hair loss. Though seemingly uncontrollable, these 2 factors can both be controlled by acknowledging their presence and identifying what caused them. Stress can be work related or brought about by your surroundings and can be minimized if not totally eliminated through some techniques. Giving yourself into some leisure activity like treating yourself to a spa or salon once in every 2 weeks or monthly or more frequently if needed, will help in reducing your stress level. Indulge yourself in planning creative designs to help you forget the cause of your anxiety. Remember that anxiety or any negative feeling can only affect you if you let them Always, they start to be conceptualized in the mind and only realized if you let them.

Nutrients Deficiency

Eating the right food at a right amount is the key to a healthy life. Insufficiency in some nutrients needed by the body will always have its physical manifestation. Hair loss is an example of the deficiency in iron.

Make sure that you eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, especially the green, leafy ones to get the vitamins and minerals you need every day.

Hormonal Fluctuations

Menopause is one reason why woman suffers hair loss. As menopausal stage is welcomed by hot flashes, mood swings, nausea, headaches and other known symptoms with bearings on hormone fluctuations, hair loss is barely given much attention until a slight patch of baldness at the top part or back of your head starts to appear. Others consult their doctor for hormonal inducing treatment that will replace loss hormone and minimize the effects of menopause in the body system.

Excessive Smoking and Alcohol Intake

Everything excessive is harmful as it is when deficient. Same thing works for alcohol and cigarettes. Though I may say that the latter serves to be more toxic regardless of the amount of smoke you inhaled. Smoking and drinking can deprived your body with the needed vitamins and minerals dries up moisture stores in our epidermis and likewise hardened our blood vessels restricting the circulatory flow of dietary nutrients in the different parts of our body and that includes our hair follicles. These hair follicles, when denied with the nutritive element they need, eventually dries up and die in the process and this causes hair fall out.

Chemotherapy Side Effect

Women with thyroid malfunction called hypothyroidism or goiter also experience hair loss problems.

Cancer victims undergoing chemotherapy also faces severe hair loss problem up to the extent of getting bald because of the medical treatment.

If you visit a department store or a grocery store, you may be surprised to see a large array of hair products that promise to give you heart-warming effects on your glorious hair. Then why do statistics on hair loss seems to be increasing each year? This problem is not evident on women since they can use hair extenders and wigs to keep it from scrutiny, but men find it harder to keep. Younger men use caps to hide hair loss, but you can’t use a cap all the time. A toupee seems weird on men and not fashionable, so not many are using it.

Though many products in the market offer the best solution, they somehow added more to the causes of hair loss. Our hair follicles are sensitive and fragile and are easily threatened when exposed to natural health hazards. Most of these products contain a toxic chemical, the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Ether Lauryl Sulfate (SLES) or Ammonium Laureth Sulfate (ALS) which is usually found in our shampoo, liquid soap and toothpaste. Surfactants, such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate can strip your hair of their natural oils and weakens keratin, a family of fibrous structural protein. Since Keratin is responsible for providing your hair with the necessary strength and toughness, depriving your hair of it will cause more breakage and thinning to your hair.

How to Reverse Hair Loss: 6 Secrets for Reversing Hair Loss

According to the Cosmetic Ingredient Review, 2% and more concentration of SLS, SLES and ALS can cause irritation, thus it is highly recommended that cosmetics and other beauty products must not contain more than 1 percent. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health further announced that the undiluted SLS may cause skin and eye irritations and other illness-related symptoms like diarrhea, nausea or vomited if the chemical is taken in.

Conducted Mercola studies on SLS were done through experiments involving direct feeding and eye application of SLS chemical to animals. This type of exposure is somehow not often times experienced through a normal cosmetic application. However, since our body doesn’t have the capacity to break down certain chemicals, continued exposure to these chemicals will allow them to be accumulated in your body. Although there is not enough information provided on the long term effects of SLS chemicals to the human body, it is recommended to use these chemicals with proper caution. For safety reasons, it is prudent for us to be using alternative products and what better way than to patronize products with natural elements. In buying your home and health products, look for markings indicating “SLS Free.”

Hairloss Prevention and Scalp Treatment

For prevention of baldness, it is always better to get away from using hair products containing surfactants and resort back to patronizing natural made products. Get away from harsh chemicals used by commercial products that will only worsen your hair loss and get back to the basic. Here are some winning tips to prevent thinning hair or hair loss:
