How to Lose Weight without Diet or Exercise!
Lose Weight for Free! Fast, Fun and Lasting Methods
These are some sure fire ways to lose some of that extra weight without a diet plan for free and without a strict workout regimen!
Get Outside!
The first and most important way to lose weight is to make a habit of getting outside. Simply being outside under the beautiful sun is very good for you. The body is able to produce Vitamin D when it is exposed to the sun, which helps your body absorb calcium. This is very important for strong bones and teeth. On top of this, many studies have shown that exposure to sunlight and the great outdoors greatly diminishes depression and a feeling of hopelessness or laziness. Hopelessness and laziness, in turn, can be directly related to being overweight. Getting out in the sun will 'brighten your day' as well as promote healthy bones and teeth and a healthy lifestyle.
Garden or Take Care of Your Lawn
Once you have made it out into the beautiful outdoors, you might as well do something fun and productive. If you have a yard, take care of it. You can save money by not needing a gardener and the therapeutic aroma of fresh cut grass and soil is sure to lift your spirits. On top of just taking care of your yard, you could venture into the wild world of gardening. Whether it is gardening flowers or vegetables, it is sure to be good for you. An hour of physical activity will go by in no time preparing your garden. Along with some exercise and exposure to sun, you will have a full garden of healthy vegetables to eat. This will promote healthy eating and save money on groceries.
Replace a Car Ride with a Bike Ride
This is a simple and fun way to get fit. Choose one ore two car trips that you take each week and take that trip on a bike. This could be a trip to the post office 2 miles away or a trip to see your friend 5 blocks away. Whatever it is, you will save a bit of gas money as well as burning a few calories!
Be Active!
This little healthy lifestyle can look different depending on your age, life-situation, hobbies and where you live. If you have kids, go play catch or kick a soccer ball with them for a while each day. This will get them off of their video games and into the sun as well, which will promote better attitudes and better health. It can also be an amazing time for bonding with a parent and their child. You can also do this with your younger siblings or cousins. Some of my fondest memories of my dad are when we would lift weights and play ball together, and some of my dearest memories of my brother were long days of tennis under the brilliant sun.
If you are a bit younger or don't have younger people to play around with there are still many options! Almost every city has clubs and organizations promoting all sorts of activities. Every Monday and Tuesday night about 15 guys gather at a park just down the road from my house to play basketball for hours. I joined them this week and it was one of the best work outs of the year! There are also groups playing volleyball in school gyms, swimming clubs, pick-up frisbee games and all sorts of other activities to join in on. The great part is, most of these are free and you often meet a lot of great people that you wouldn't have otherwise come in contact with.
"I'm not the type of person to join a club of people that I don't even know to play a sport that I am not good at."
If thats you, I understand. That sort of thing is not everyone's cup of tea, but you can probably find your niche in nature. There may be a perfect hiking trail just miles from your house or a field to roam through. You can always pick up a book from the library on scavenging edible wild plants or a book on edible mushrooms (be very careful if you do this, mushrooms are tricky!) and take to the forest, field or park in search of edible treasures.
If none of these appeal to you, be creative! What do you enjoy? What little change can you make to your life to be a bit more active? Trust me, you'll be happy to find that living healthy can be much easier than starving on a diet and following a strict workout regimen!
