3 most common neurological disorders and their treatments

Neurological disorders are found to be increasing due to changed lifestyle. Normally, it is a group of diseases which affects the spine, the brain and the nerves which connect the both. If you observe, it is stated that there are up to 600 neurological disorders, according to the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. However, you will also find that among those 600 these three diseases are likely to be the most common ones.

Migraine-

Migraine is known as a chronic neurological disorder in which the patients experience frequent and intense headaches. It is accompanied by extreme sensitivity towards sound or lights.

Treatment-

Parkinson’s Disease- This disease comes under a group of diseases that are called motor system diseases. In this disorder, you won’t find symptom easily. Because of the loss of dopamine-producing brain cells, it leads to progressive deterioration of motor function. Muscle control is lost.

Here are the Symptoms of Parkinson’s disease are-

  • Tremor
  • Dementia
  • Stiffness
  • Anxiety
  • Impaired balance

Treatment- At this current stage, no cure has been found for Parkinson’s disease. However, there are some medicines which can be useful in reducing the pain. The most effective medication for Parkinson’s disease is Carbidopa-levodopa. It is a natural chemical which passes into your brain and gets converted into dopamine. Anticholinergics medication is used to help control the tremor.

Alzheimer’s disease- Alzheimer is the most common neurological disorder and generally it can be seen in senior citizens. It slowly starts diminishing the memory and other reasoning skills. Symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease are-

  • Finding difficulty in recalling a place, time and date.
  • Unable to recognize friends and family members.
  • Depression.

Treatment- Currently as per the records, no cure has been found for the Alzheimer’s. However, medication is accessible which helps in reducing some of the symptoms. The medicines which are prescribed are Razadyne, Aricept and Exelon.
