Do not eat fats

One common weight loss and diet suggestion on the internet is not to eat fats. At first glance this diet tip seems logical. You don’t want fast to build up in your body so don’t eat fats. WRONG! Fats are integral part of our body’s nutrition. Without out it, processes in our body will fail. Fats are needed down to the cellular level.

There are essentially two types of lipids or fats that we usually consume - the good cholesterol and the bad cholesterol. Obviously opting for the good cholesterol is wise. Sources like fish oil have high omega 3 fatty acids that are healthy.

Remove calories from your diet

I have no idea who started the war against calories. Probably this is spurred by ads about burning calories fast. Although we want to burn calories in order to get rid of fats fast, we should never remove calories I our diet. First of all, calories are the body’s fuel. It is what keeps us alive and moving. We need fuel to do the most basic tasks. Moreover, getting the needed calories is essential to support life.

There is a recommended daily calorie intake. And it varies from person to person. This minimum amount allows us to survive the day. Going below it can be detrimental. But here is the important idea behind burning calories. When we do our exercises routines we burn calories. Of course the more strenuous it is the more calories we burn. As such, if we do not have enough fuel in our bodies, we can’t accomplish the intended activities.

Instead of eliminating calories, we have to consciously monitor our energy in and energy out. Getting the needed amount of fuel will ensure that we can accomplish our daily tasks and maintain a healthy and fit body.

Skip meals to lose weight

I know people who do not eat certain meals in the day. The idea behind this is to lessen the amount of fats, calories that they eat. This is practically starving our body. Unless you really want an imitated body, this is not a wise weight loss and diet practice.

Skipping meals deprives our body with the energy and nutrients that it needs. Of course the amount you have to eat depends on your body and your activities.

Instead of skipping meals, you may opt to eat more frequent with lesser portions. This will help keep the body at the optimum level without having to gorge down a lot of food in one go.

Throw it up

Here is a classic weight loss and diet suggestion – throw up! This is not healthy as it deprives the body of the needed nutrition. Likewise, vomiting constantly can damage your intestinal tract. As the food is regurgitated, acid from the stomach joins in and can damage your esophagus.

Sensible weight loss programs diet practices should be done. There are no short cuts to a healthy and fit life. It is when people try to cheat nature that more problems occur. So be wary what you read about health and fitness. Likewise, be cautious with diet programs that seem too good to be true. Moreover, it is prudent to ask professionals about anything that you plan to take or do when it comes to your health. Exercise, proper eating habits, rest and a lot of patience are integral to achieving a healthy body. And prudence can help ensure that you secure a healthy and fit body and lifestyle.
