5 Steps Toward Epic Health

Updated on January 27, 2016

Step 1. Focus

"Where your focus goes, energy flows." ~Tony Robbins

If you're serious about cultivating a health for your body and mind that you've never felt before, then the first step you need to take is to gather knowledge. You need to dial your focus into the world of complete health and stay focused until you have overcome your current health challenges, achieved epic health and created a strategy that health you sustain your health.

This is the first step, because it is often the most over looked step in acheiving anything - many of us will check a couple of websites, browse across all those sales sights that promise you'll "lose weight and look great in 30 days or less!", and we might even reach out on places like hubpages to ask a few questions. Though what from there? That information certainly isn't enough - though in all reality, it was never intended to be enough. No body is going to just give you the answers for perfect health.

Though I will offer you something better - EMPOWERMENT.

If you follow this short formula, and you really demand that you follow it and you stay focused, there is absolutely no reason why you cannot start producing results RIGHT NOW.

Step 2. Understand

I am going to tell you something right now, that I KNOW that YOU already know.

The Best Diet - The key to Ultimately having the most balanced health any person can have - is simply taking care of yourself.

  • Do Eat a balanced diet of Vegetables, Fruits, Grains, Nuts, Dairy and Meats.
  • Do Drink at least 2 Gallons of fresh, clean, reverse-osmosis water with added minerals - Every Day
  • Do Exercise for at least 20 minutes every single day (30 minutes is best!)
  • Don't overindulge in sweets, alcohol, prescriptions, sugar, caffeine, hallucinogens, nicotine, additives or foods with aggressive tastes.
  • DO NOT Skip Breakfast - it's important because when you skip your first meal, you create a domino effect that will leave you exhausted for DAYS, but also make it HARDER to sleep.
  • Snacking or "grazing" throughout the day is the most optimal health maintenance diet for human beings - so don't starve yourself all day and then binge later. Prepare regular lite snacks that you can take with you anywhere.
  • Plan for at least 10 hours of sleep - and never get any less than 8.5 hours (because sometimes sex and other of life's joys need a little bit of our "sleep" time, so leave room in your sleep schedule).
  • Stop eating C-R-A-P - all the over processed, uber convenient, super salted meals "to go", or ready made meals, or meals in boxes - Get rid of them from your menu and your life. Every time you indulge in these forms of food, your taking yourself 10 steps backward in the fight for good health.
  • Eat REAL Food - I'm talking organic, chemical free, unprocessed local produce, dairy, meat and other ingredients. Real Butter, Real Sugar, Real Wholesome Foods. Real Foods bring you real health, so long as you stay in moderation with all things. Too much of anything can easily become bad for your health.
  • Fulfill all six of your basic needs - and Stress less!

As I said above, I'm sure most of you reading this hub already know these are the things you should already be doing if you want to stay healthy, fit and vibrant. If you didn't know, I'm glad I could provide you with the knowledge you need to succeed.

As for the rest of you... Well, you already knew all this, so I'm not offering you anything new. You already know there are no "magic" diets or pills or exercises that can take you from fat to thin or unhealthy to healthy - overnight. There is nothing that can do that in a week, a month or even a year - and any one that tries to convince you otherwise is playing you for a fool because the only truly way to stay trim, maintain good health and feel great - is to cultivate a life of Good Health Decisions.

Most of us are not overweight, under healthy or mentally unable simply because life has thrust a horrible situation upon us. It's because of a lot of little and seemingly unimportant choices we made that lead to where we are. A quick stop at McDonald's to feed the family instead of 15 minutes of stove top cooking. Buying the cheap apples instead of the organic, or better yet, growing your own. The decision to slump into the couch and zombify yourself staring at the lives of unreal TV characters instead of going for a brisk 15 minute walk that will help you sleep better. Spending money on coffee, energy drinks and "pick me ups", instead of dealing with the real reason you are so tired.

If you truly want epic health - you must understand that it will not just fall into your lap. There are no special remedies, and there are no requirements or "types" when it comes to maximum health. There are only those who make good health decisions and those that make bed health decisions. And what really matters is not which one of those people you have been, but which one of them you will become.

Step 3. Build Your Time Management Skills

Seriously - do you know how many people I've worked with whom have told me "I really want to exercise, but I just don't have any time." ? More than I can count on both my hands twice over (at least). The sad thing is, that while it may seem that way at first, if you don't change your perspective and manifest the will to create the time - then you will not ever reach your goals of attaining balanced health.

Remember what I said in Step 2> Who are you becoming? The kind of person who makes good decisions for your health, or the alternative?

Want to drop 40 pounds? Feel better? Becoming Stronger? Fit into those old skinny jeans? Be less stressed? Sleep better at night? Stop being late for everything, or angry and frustrated all the time?

Then you Must create the time to take care of yourself. There is absolutely no other way to get it done. And trust me, you don't have to believe me. I'm nobody really. Once I'm done writing this hub, I'm gone. I truly hope that this hub will reach out to and help countless individuals create better health - but my goals aren't important here - your are! If you decide not to take anything from this hub when you're done reading it, it doesn't hurt me at all. Though it does hurt you - only because you're allowing your own hesitation to do what you already know you need to do - you're allowing your fears to control you - and that will hurt your chances of living a life full of abundant energy, true attractiveness and vibrance.

It's only your own time that you'll be wasting by not following these steps placed before you. It only means more unwanted weight gain, more deteriorating health, more stress in your relationships, business and education and more wasted money at the doctors.

Is that what you really want?

If it's not what you want, then you need to commit to this step - Step #3: BUILD YOUR TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS. Learn to schedule your day/week/month/year, prioritize your projects, unexpected events and recreational time.

Once you do that, you'll start to notice that there is an extra 30 minutes before you need to leave for work, or maybe an extra 30 minutes before your scheduled bed time after everything has been put away. 30 minutes which you could spend 15 of, simply going for a walk around our neighborhood or doing some indoor Yoga. 10 more of those minutes could be spent eating a healthy breakfast that will fuel you through the day and leave you less exhausted when you get home, or sitting down to write out your goals for the next day. That still leaves you five minutes to leave early, get to work earlier and not be held up later in the day because you started late, exhausted, hungry and depressed - or to get to bed a little bit earlier and let your sweetie know your "in the mood" because of all this free time you've found in your day. =)

So seriously, take the time to build and strengthen your Time Management Skills. You can contact me for help in cultivating an Epic Time Management Strategy, or you can check out millions of pages of free time management skills available all over the internet.

Step 4. Take Action

I am willing to bet a substantial amount that you didn't find your way to my hub simply by chance. Either you asked for an answer, or you've been scouring the internet for the "best diet" or "best exercises" or "best health tips". And if that is true, I am also willing to bet a great amount that you are tired of feeling like none of the options you keep finding are "right" for you. You need something RIGHT now, something IMMEDIATE that gets you closer to GOOD HEALTH and not farther away from it.

Well I've got news for you - 88% of the people who read this hub will simply click away and do NOTHING with the information. Sure, they'll read it and nod their heads and say, "Yeah, I should do that." Then they'll click away from this hub and keep searching for the "answer". Those people will go through life shoulding all over themselves and unless something or someone manages to connect with them on the right level, they will never overcome their weight, health or vitality challenges.

Now, 88% is a very high roll over rate - and it's important that you understand what separates the 88% from the 18% - it's ACTION.

Most of that same 88% that will never use this information fully - are all good people who genuinely want to lose weight, eat better, exercise more and have balanced health. They don't come to find this article because they don't care - but the difference between YOU vs. THEM - is that you are going to take action Right Now.

Don't worry, this hub will be here whenever you need it, you can open a new tab or simply Bookmark this hub. Either way, I want you to stop reading and take action NOW - If you've made the decision that you are going to become a good health decision maker and that you are no longer going to sit with the pain you are currently experiencing, then take pleasure in IMMEDIATE Action.

Stop reading and DO SOMETHING - go for a quick walk around the block, grab yourself a healthy snack, go read about Time Management skills, hide the ash trays or throw out the Crap Food in your pantry and fridge. I don't care where you are or what you are doing, there is a way you can take immediate action to confirm your commitment to your good health.

WARNING: If you decide NOT to take immediate action, you will be hesitating, which is the same reason nothing you've ever read, learned or tried has worked before. That same hesitation will lead to procrastination, which will lead right into MORE PAIN. By taking action RIGHT NOW - you will cement into your subconscious, your confirmed decision to make GOOD health choices from here on out.

Remember - it's only your own health, time and life that you're wasting.

Step 5. Accept the Price of Success

All things in this world come with a cost in one form or another. If you don't want to have to worry about your health, then you have to spend the time developing healthy habits. That doesn't happen over night - either you were raised as a child to make right health decisions, or you have to dedicate yourself to the months or years it takes to learn those skills as an adult.

The important key here is to remember that in the world of health there is no entitlement. There are no "rights to good health" and no one gets any "super health powers". No one, and I mean NO ONE has balanced health simply because they have more money, because they have better access to health care, they're smarter or because they have this or that which you don't have.

People only achieve Epic Health because they prioritize their focus on maintaining good health. There are people who are completely broke, homeless even, who are 100 lbs over weight (or more). There are people who have unlimited access to health benefits and the worlds best doctors - yet they still live with pain and discomfort Every Day.

Why do you think that happens?

That's right! It's because they make bad decisions about their health.

I don't care where you come from economically, socially, racially or environmentally. I don't care what access to resources you have or what else is in your way. If you want to achieve Epic Success, you MUST dedicate your time and will power to making it happen. That is the price of success - if you want it, you must work hard for it.

Success is not this instant thing that happens, it is a series of decisions and actions that lead you toward your positive goals. Ironically, failure is the same process - the only difference is that the decisions and actions led away from your goals and led into negative consequences.

So now you must accept this price, and stop worrying about how you will do it or what pains you might experience. If you're worried that healthier foods won't taste as good as all the aggressive flavors you over indulge in, then find a way to make them taste better without compromising your health, or change your perspective - those foods might not taste as good, but they'll give you more energy, tighter abs, a slim waste and plenty of love and connection with yourself and the world around you.
