7-Days Jumpstart to Personal Development That Can Change Your Life
If you've been wanting to get into self-improvement, then you've come to the right place. It is without a doubt that every person in this world, at some stages devote hours thinking about their current situation and their future life. Most of which wishes that there was something that they could change in their life, be it family situations, friendships, relationships or finances. Even the most successful person on earth would have some aspect in his/her life that he/she wishes to improve.
Think about it, how many times have you set goals and simply didn’t follow through it? This is pretty normal for most people. Sometimes, setting goals is even much harder than accomplishing it. This is why personal development is very important that aids in achieving your goals in life. Before you start improving any aspects of your life, first you need to accept that you are imperfect. Nobody is perfect in this world for that matter. Without further a due, here are some things that I would like you to think and improve on that should be enough for 7 days.
Day 1: Identify your goals
What is it that you’re trying to achieve? Is it happiness, health and prosperity? Identify your purpose in life that should be completed and write it down if you may. Prioritize your goals because this will gives you an idea of what your missions are and lead you through the right path.
This may seems tricky, especially when you encounter tight situations or even dead end. Don’t worry and stay calm because there’s always that little loophole that can turn things around which helps you make a bigger differences to yourself.
Day 2: Identify what is important
What is it that you value the most? Make a list of top 5 things that you value in life. Think about commitments too. Some of these examples include family, friends, security, freedom and learning. As you set your goals, try to check your goals and your top 5 values. If your goals doesn’t align with your top 5 values, you might want to reconsider or change it.
Don’t be discourage with the number, instead, take it as a motivation for you to keep going in achieving your dream goals.
Day 3: Identify your needs
Make sure that you always take care of yourself. What is it that you need? Do you have a need to be acknowledged, to be right, to be in control or to be loved? There are so many people out there that don’t realize their needs and they end up being stress or even depress due to this. Hence, try to list at least 4 of your needs and get them met before it’s too late. Doing this, you can also identify time wasters which is the things you do that take time away from achieving your goals.
Day 4: Identify your passion
No one in this world know yourself more like you do. Who you are and what you truly enjoy in life depends on you. Find something that you truly enjoy doing and make it your passion. Although complications such as doubt and lack of enthusiasm may arise along the way, however this will not disrupt your chance of becoming the person you ought to be. Therefore, try to express yourself more and honor the people that has inspired you to become the very person that you desired to be.
Day 5: Open your mind
Increase your consciousness of your inner wisdom by reflecting regularly in silence. Try some meditation to help release your stress. Meditation doesn’t have to be done by sitting in a lotus position surrounded by gardenia candles. No. You can always do this by just taking two minutes of your time to meditate just about anywhere you find comfortable. This is because meditation is more about clearing your preoccupied mind and regulating your breathing and simply just calming your soul for a moment. In my case, I prefer sitting in a dimly lit room and play some nature sounds music in the background such as the sound of falling the rain, chirping birds and waterfall.
Day 6: Find your strength
What is your positive traits? What special or hidden talents do you have? Are you imaginative, funny, and good at arts or music? Whatever it is, try to list some of these on a note and if you get stuck, try asking those people that are closest to you and identify these things. You might be surprise of how other people sees you. When you find out your strength, go ahead and express yourself through your strengths. Thus, increasing your self-confidence because you get to share what you know to others.
Day 7: Serve others
Realize that you can't do everything all at once in your life. When you are true to who you are, living your life purpose and sharing your talents to the world around you, in a way you are actually giving back what you came to share with other. That is, your spirit and also your essence. The rewards for sharing your knowledge and talents with those close to you is indeed very rewarding and even much more rewarding if it were to be in the eyes of a stranger who can appreciate what you have done to them.
