7 Factors that lead to infertility in men

The process of parenthood is the best thing which every couple wishes to experience. The reproduction process is very simple and natural but sometimes it can feel like a daunting process for few couples. It is said that today 15 % couples face infertility problems. Nowadays it is also seen that half of these couples, male has the problem of infertility. Infertility in the case of men is mostly because of the low quality or low count of sperms in them. There is en number of reasons for causing male infertility. Factors like injuries, illness and poor lifestyle choices lead to male infertility. This infertility in men is most common now a day and is seen mostly one out of the six families.

Here are the seven factors which lead to infertility in men-

Smoking and alcohol -

Smoking decreases the normal cells percentage and the sperm motility. Smoking also decreases the semen parameters. Alcohol lowers the sperm count and decreases testosterone levels which lead to erectile dysfunction.

Erection and ejaculation problem-

This is one of the most common issues of male infertility. The erection of the pennies at the right time of intercourse is very vital. At times it happens that the sperms get ejaculated much before the intercourse. This can be due to too much of sexual excitement, going through mental stress, consumption of alcohol or tobacco or not having a healthy diet.

Age-

It is seen that as the age increases the blood testosterone level seems to come down in men. This declination starts when they reach their 30s.

Chromosomal disorders-

Inheritance plays a major role in the chromosomal disorder of infertility in men. The absence of one X chromosome and one Y chromosome, popularly known as Klinefelter's syndrome is normally the hereditary disease and the cause of chromosomal disorders.

Obesity-

As obesity is one of the reasons causing infertility in women, likewise it is seen in men also. It also plays a role in leading to male infertility. The men who have extra fats in their suprapubic and thigh area, it leads to the poor quality of semen.

Blockages in the flow of sperms-

Blockages can occur in the tube that drains the sperms and hence the flow of active sperms mobility is hampered.

Hormonal imbalances-

Many times, it happens that, the body does not stimulate the required hormones at the time of intercourse.

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is known as a famous treatment which helps a lot. It is one of the most successful and popular treatments for male infertility. It enhances the fertilization phase by injecting the active sperm into the fertilized egg of women. For ICSI Bangalore is a preferred destination in India.
