A Quick Low Carb Burger Bun

Do you sit alone while others enjoy their burgers at picnics because you are on a low carb diet? The burgers are great, the dogs are fine, but the buns are not. Well these buns are low carb and you can make them easily at your home. You want them more heart healthy? Use a quarter of a cup of egg whites instead of the egg.

Cook Time

Ready in: 10 min
Yields: One person burger bun


  • 1/4 cup chickpea flour, can use almond flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp water
  • 1/2 TBSP baking powder
  • to taste salt
  • if you desire to taste garlic powder
  • to taste black pepper
  • Spray olive oil or canola oil

A Low Carb and Quick Burger Bun

  1. Mix flour, egg. oil, water, baking powder and if desired salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  2. Spray with olive oil a square microwave container the size and shape you desire.
  3. Bake in microwave 2 minutes.
  4. Put it on a plate and cool. Cut into two slices for the top and bottom.
  5. Toast.
