A simple Ode to Our Friend Lawrence Hebb

Updated on December 9, 2019

I like to come at things from a different angle. Usually if we take some words and apply them to ourselves we can then apply to the world.

A Danged Fine Man

Most of do not know New Zealand most have never been there, although I was blessed to many many years ago. A land of good folks we should call friends for their peace seems never to end. Lawrence has brought us from near and other like a light like a brother.

New Zealand a place of harmony and good graces

It brings us home like all of our special places

Land of forests made for some kind of excellence

A place created out eternal brotherly benevolents

We do not know when tragedy strikes but we must act as what is right

So we pray this horrible horrible night

Let there be ease a pain not so great

Let there be medical teams to help mitigate

Bless the men and women of first responders

Let us not even their bravery we ever ponder

Fire into the air and sea into all for heaven to see.

Please let comfort on this great land for there to be

We cannot know the pain they must suffer

But yes our intentions and prayers we may offer

Look not here for we will not know the pain

But in our love maybe others down there may gain

Especially thoughts of goodness and praise

Up to Lawrence these we raise

My son and I offered up a dance

That so many were given a chance

But in prayer we kneeled to do cry

For those who perished and we know not why

These tragadies happen beyond our possible scope

But our friends are safe we can always hope

Momma wrote back “Is your friend okay?”

I think his family is safe for today

So in our we pray for Lawrence and his family fine

Like in our family that does just fine

And they shall raise from the ashes. We will pray. What wonderful caring there is in our small community John.

Lord even their bodies are lost please take their souls so they not be tossed. Our brothers and sisters may not be near but we pray you will be with them clear. A tear is cast from them from many afar. But we know in your they are.

Dora just this day I opened my refrigerator and in a bit pick my lovely son up from a great school and we will play too hard. My land of plenty gives us so much. We must give it back to others. Perhaps only in sending love.

Lori I was out doing some trimming and garbage type stuff. Two neighbors went by and hand waves all around with smiles. If something went wrong Gabe and I could literally run the block and help. Here I can only send prayers. So we shall.

Bill I do not do news much but sat in my car as Gabe was messing around and heard of this. Sometimes I listen to the radio. I figure we are blessed that no more were injured but pained by those who were.

This is a beautiful poem addressing the tragedy on White island. They must not have realized that the volcano was going to erupt. I pray for the missing and grieve for those that perished.

This ode is a loving tribute to our dear friend, Lawrence. The volcano eruption on White Island must have been quite unexpected. I read that there were 24 Australians there at the time and a family of four are among those missing. We pray for all those still missing and their loved ones.
