AVOCADO: A FRUIT THAT HEALS

It is a mild-bland, oil-rich, nutrient rich food. It has a diverse range of dietary advantage. Scientific evidence from many research and studies indicated avocado has many potential benefits in health care. In addition to its many properties to heal, many of our health condition as the result of our modern lifestyle that cause it. It was now slowly becoming widely recognized to those people not aware that avocado has many advantages. Avocado fruit were known universally to countries that raised them including Philippines. It became popular anywhere in the world because of its nutritional benefits and many uses.

It has different colors, shapes and textures so with its leaves. It is one fruit to become a substitute to shortage of staple foods. It can easily adapt to seasonal period, changes of weather either in dry and cold condition. It can be planted anywhere with good soil combination. It can be planted even in our backyard bearing many fruits in one fruiting season.

Avocado consumption still going strong where many people started using it as food on the table. They realized that it has beneficial effect to the body to become healthy and wise. It is called the veritable fruit of paradise useful in human weight management program, high nutritional benefits, presence of anti-oxidant, prevent stroke, source of protein, source of fiber and a baby food.

There is no scientific evidence that using leaves, seeds or skin and bark are toxic for both human and animals. If there is, it still safe to human consumption.

The density of its flesh acts as fuel to provide energy for growth and development of children. It has a perfect nourishing food for babies if mashed and easily digested. Its low sugar content is an ideal fruit for diabetic. It is the best natural mouthwash especially those with bad breath. Commercially, it is now used in the preparation of beauty products in the form of creams and moisturizers, and even in soap.

The presence of beta-sitosterol, a compound recommended for cholesterol-lowering treatment. Avocado extract has oleic acid good for the prevention of breast cancer and inhibit the growth of prostate cancer. The toxin of the avocado can heal control cancer cells. It has a nutrient contents of vitamin K, dietary fiber, folic acid, vitamin B6, potassium, vitamin C and copper. The presence of oleic acid (mono-saturated fat) may help lower cholesterol. Studies already been made to determine its advantage in lowering bad cholesterol.

Potassium regulate blood pressure and other circulatory diseases (heart, stroke). A folate-rich diet can control the presence of cardiovascular disease important to heart health. It has a dietary source of beta-carotene, an anti-oxidant. It has a significant presence of vitamin E. It improves the ability of the body to absorb carotene.

A compound called lutein in avocados can protect against macular degeneration of eye disease and cataract. Glutathione, an anti-oxidant in avocado has healthful effect to the heart. Vitamin E presence in avocado has essential vitamin against many diseases and keep the body healthy. It has a soothing effect in the sensitivity of the stomach and duodenum. Its enzymes is a remedy for ulcer problem.

Improving eyesight and prevent eye problem of glaucoma, cataracts and astigmatism. High concentration of folate necessary for healthy fetal and tissue development of the child in the womb of her mother in its early stage of growth. It strengthen body's immune system. It helps to reduce the risk of kidney stones because of high potassium content. It is also help to balance the body's energy metabolism, nerve function and muscle activity.

The presence of vitamin B6 can release nausea and quasiness especially during pregnancy period. The oil has a softening and soothing nature and easily penetrate to the skin. An effective sunscreen. Its mono-saturated fats speeds up basal metabolic rate. A quick feeling of fulness if eaten and reduces the craving of other foods and control overeating. It controls food bingeing of food high in sugar or saturated fats.
