Updated on September 4, 2013

Feelings and Emotions Keep Us Human

No matter what, it is an undeniable fact that our complex range of feelings and emotions are one of the things that make us human. Compassion, love, appreciation, forgiveness, and respect are all important. Staying happy keeps all of us out of the pits, so I hope this little list of my favorite feelings pushes you to achieve them yourself, while leading a more fulfilling and rewarding life.

Experiencing Romantic Love

Before we move on to the other topics, I wanted to cover romantic love first. This is one of the most rewarding feelings on the face of the planet, and one that many will experience first in their lives, before the rest of the items in this hub. Romantic love is a game of attraction and bonding; when it is played right, both people involved in the relationship fall into a hopeless, gratifying, indulgent, unbelievably passionate, fearless, unconditionally loving, and obsessive state of mind.

Nothing can come between lovers; not even their own health. When love comes into play, it can satisfy people in a way that no other need can be satisfied. This is exactly why everyone becomes desperate for that level of love and companionship; there is almost no other feeling in this world that can rival the satisfaction that romantic love can give; except for the type of love that can spring from this relationship; the love for a child. Everyone always remembers their first love, and no one forgets just how insanely hopeless and dedicated they were to that person. True love? It really is amazing. It's just nearly impossible to find unfortunately. This just makes it that much more special!

How Old Were You When You Moved Away from Home?

First Experiencing Independence

When you first moved away from home, there were probably a world full of troubles, hard lessons, and financial stress that hit you like a ton of bricks. It may have made you afraid, but you didn't let it get you down. More than likely, you were too enthusiastic and happy about the fact that you were living your life your way- you had your own place, you were paying your own bills, managing your own money, and living by your own rules. Those first few breaths of independence and freedom will give you such a feeling of accomplishment and happiness, just like stepping out into the fresh, country air! This is one of the most memorable experiences in life, and it allows us to feel that control and freedom we all long for. That is, until a serious relationship and children come along! Then, those freedoms become a bit further from your grasp. Therefore, it is important for everyone to enjoy this experience and feel that incredible feeling that comes with being able to depend on yourself 100%!

Don't You Wish Your First Home Looked Like This?

This would make a beautiful first home, but most of the time something like this is way out of budget. We can dream, can't we?!

Opening Your Heart: Personal Rewards Through Compassion

There is no feeling quite like the feeling of charity. Giving and helping are one of the most rewarding and productive things that you can do in life. Not everyone has the same luck or lack thereof in life, making it a wonderful idea for everyone to spread kindness and compassion no matter where they go. There are tons of things that one can do to help others, making your kind gestures something that can happen often and in a limitless amount of ways. Everywhere you turn, you will see someone that is having trouble, or going through a hard time. Don't you get that warm, fuzzy, needed feeling when you help others? It feels good, doesn't it?

Sometimes, the only thing you have to do is be there: talk, and listen. This is something that requires no extra effort on your part. Just being a friend! Some people may be grieving through a loss, whether it be someone they know, a job, a pet, or even a home. Others are going through a break up, divorce, or abuse. These people need someone to talk to and cheer them up. It can be a very difficult task, but your tone of voice, intent, and clear compassion will make all of the difference.

Becoming a Mother or Father

Other than falling into romantic love, experiencing the growth of love for your very own child is one of the most rewarding life events to be experienced. No matter what a parent has done in their life, one thing they never forget is having a child; their love for the child is one that cannot be matched with words. It is something to die for, the most worthy thing in one's life to protect. Raising children is a beautiful course of life, and it gives a mother and father a forever friend. A parent will go to the ends of the world for his or her child, and for those who are not parents (like myself) you can't help but to wonder just how rewarding and powerful this feeling is. Children light up our world, giving us a quick glimpse into that innocent and naïve mindset that we once had. Where everyone is a friend, the world is a wonderful place, and worries were not of bills and work; they were finding lost crayons or trying to find your favorite TV show in the TV Guide.

What Is Your Favorite Feeling?

There's so many other wonderful feelings that we receive when we experience or accomplish something that is truly wonderful. My question is, what are your favorite feelings to experience and what causes them? What do you feel is the most important thing in life to feel?

For me, the most wonderful feeling would probably be the feeling of achievement and success. Knowing that you have set a goal for yourself and accomplished it is just utterly rewarding; it puts you over the moon and back! I absolutely love how you feel like you can do anything you set your mind to after that success. Of course you will experience many more failures than successes, the point is to have the drive and ambition to dust yourself off and try again! Thank you for stopping on by and have an absolutely wonderful day. I also hope that this hub has either brightened your day, or simplified the meaning of "true happiness" for you!
