An Appointed Time for Everything
“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven.”
I guess we all agree with Ecclesiastes 3:1. This is the case and the relation of the book titled Veronika Decides To Die, published in 1998, and written by the Brazilian Paulo Coelho.
In the moment of my decision when I decided to die I was very wrong, because my soul was blind. A friend that knew my decision went to a book store in search of finding words that would have helped me to stop with the horrible thought. She found this book and we sat on front of the beach every time we had time. As she read out loud. Honestly, I was not concentrating, perhaps her dedication did helped.
Life sometimes makes us feel like if it is choking us, for an uncountable of reasons. Sure enough two questions will arise, which have been answered and unanswered in many different ways.
What am I doing here today?
Why do I go on living?
In the book Veronika Decides To Die the main theme states, trying to give us a key to our questions, that in every second of our existence we choose between the alternative to move on or give up.
Alternatives every second of our existence
Which alternative do you usually choose?
Paulo Coelho
Our own responsibility
We cannot blame the system, governors, family, culture, parents, environment, etc. We own our decisions. Perhaps our bodies are tied up, but our decision to feel freedom and peace is about only ours. We have responsibilities, and the main responsibility is to live the life we were given.
It is very easy to escape with a list of motives, but, there is so much help and the main one is to surrender to God. We will never escape problems they are occurrences, some by our own life style, and others out of our control. Nothing or nobody can destroy our ‘inner us’ without ‘our consent’. We are responsible for our own life.
A time for everything
In my case the Bible has all the answers I need to beat the enemy which surrounds us. There are many individuals giving help out there without even finding their own answers (as seen in Veronika Decides To Die). A life that can preach is a life that is teaching with its own decisions. If you observe phony actions, violent conversations, as well as, wrong decisions; just give an about face if you feel that the strength to defeat is an absent quality in your life. It is better to escape even when you will be called coward, than to face a giant without God’s blessings. There is a time for everything; the time will come to work out problems.
Reality
That sure was the case of the book Veronika Decides To Die. It was on a shelf of my library for six years. I had an encounter with the video (from a link a friend sent) as my daughter had pulled out the book to read it. Perhaps it was for her, or back to me… many times it is not about common sense it is about reality and that we are fighting a big giant. The best part is that we are not alone. Angels are all over us in many different shapes to help us defeat our giants.
Our children are being attacked and we must do “whatever” to prevent the propagation of evil things. “Rights” are our daily bread these days. Every single movement we do they are affected, in a positive way as in a negative way. It is just so simple:
“Do what you want, without stepping on another’s life line.”
If you decide to die as Veronika and I did be sure to get help, think it over and decide to live. Others will get hurt with each of our decisions because the reality is that we are not alone.
Invitation
Paulo Coelho, as many other authors has a key that will help you open closed doors. Being alert is a must, because not everything or everybody has good intentions.
In the moment of my decision when I decided to die I was very wrong, because my soul was blind. I found out that there is an appointed time for everything.
I invite you to read some books including the Bible, and search help, even when you think you have all straighten up. This life is not easy and it does not tell us when we depart from this world. Being prepared will be the best tool we have in case life brings some unexpected consequences.
I want to make another sincere invitation to watch the video below, I know there is a message for each one of us waiting to be revealed.
Life is fair!!
Blessings to all!
