Apple Cider Vinegar is also known as cider vinegar or ACV. It is a type of vinegar made from apple or cider and has a pale to medium amber color. It is commonly used in salads.



What are the Process In Making Apple Cider Vinegar?

  • Crush the apples
  • Squeeze out the liquid
  • Bacteria and yeast are added to the liquid to start alcoholic fermentation process
  • The sugar content in the apple will turn into alcohol (First Fermentation)
  • The alcohol is converted into vinegar by acetic- forming bacteria ( Second Fermentation)

Steps on How To Make Home Made Apple Cider Vinegar

1. Prepare all the necessary materials

Materials:

  • 1 Big Jar/ Bottle (sterilized)
  • 3 Tbsp Sugar
  • 5 Medium Size Apples
  • Cheesecloth/ Towel
  • Rubber Band

2. Wash the Apples

3. Chop the Apples.

4. Place the chopped apples inside the jar.

5. Dilute Sugar into water and fill in the jar with enough water to cover all the apples.

6. Cover the jar using cheesecloth or towel and secure it with a rubber band.

7. Leave the jar in a dark place (preferably warm) for 1-2 weeks.

8. After 3 weeks, get the jar and strain the liquid and discard the chopped apples.

9. Return the liquid into the same jar and keep it in the same place for another 2 weeks.

10. Stir the liquid twice a week.
